Thanks Screech.

So what does one answer when the officer is asking at landing. .... are you receiving social insurance or welfare?

1. A simple No?
2. Not receiving social assistance but receiving employment uninsurance benefits.

Thanks in advance.

Also wondering if anyone else went through this.

Blackdisc.
To be honest. Never heard of anyone being asked that at landing. But if asked, simple no will do.

that's exactly what happens with outland applicants wanting to visit long term. while most don't get visitor records, some do. so it shows that either a)cbsa agents are not educated enough to know the difference between the 2 applications and the "rules" for inland and/or b)the system doesn't specify the type of family class pr (which we know is true from ECAS). Therefore, that continues to prove that the only "risk" to traveling is being denied entry. if the cbsa officer doesn't have an issue with your reason to enter, then it's very unlikely they are going to deny entry to ANY pr applicant, regardless of inland or outland.
I don't know for you others but on my OWP it say at the bottom after stating " temporary resident status according R138(6)
permanent resident status approved i principle''
and below
"this does not allow re-entry"

does anyone of you have the same comments ?

Not yet. Am going through some interviews. Also, since i stopped working for 18 months, makes it harder. But well, we just hunt and hunt. Cant wait to earn my first pay out. Good luck to you.

Same here. Been stuck at home for 2 yrs now with this whole process. Its not gonna be easy to find a job being vacant for that long.
But at least we can start going back to work now and earning real money...

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

We have a question - we just landed on Friday (yay!), however there was Condition 51 (must cohabit for 2 years after PR) placed on the COPR.

We were living together for 4 years before applying, it shouldn't apply to us. Thoughts? We are going to write to CIC as per direction of the call centre, agents told us it was an error in our case.

What is your experience at landing, others who have made it? Do you also have Condition 51? And if so, how long was your marriage/common-law before applying? Thanks!

Hi! Be sure to bring your landing interview request letter! Then yes, passport photos, work permit, passport. Get the photo at any photo store near you, even Shoppers Drug Mart, or London Drugs, or similar store. Maybe even Wal-Mart. Just be certain to bring the requirements sheet as you need the specific size.

The experience was great, just went in and confirmed at a reception where they crossed the name off and gave us a number. Then it was just like many government offices, we waited until our number came up (they come up in order, we got there 30 minutes early and it took about 30 minutes of waiting). You will get called up, asked to provide all those things above, ask you a few questions, and then they just get you to initial a few things on the COPR document, and your good to go!!! "Congratulations" Our office (Etobicoke) had a counter you could go to an get a SIN number, that took another 20 minutes]

Hope this helps!

ICBC told me that in BC you can get it as early as when you have a visitor record. Sounds like you got your OWP so good luck!
