Unless your file got transferred to the Vancouver office for further processing your file would still be with Vegreville. Once DM has approved by Vegreville the Vancouver office arranges your landing.

Maybe it's Vegreville that's holding things up unfortunately.

Now that my partner has OWP and a SIN, what are the chances that if she goes on a vacay to the states, she will not be allowed back in Canada?

My husband is from the States and we have either driven down or flown somewhere in the States every 3-4 months from Vancouver. Returning was only a little hectic the first time because leaving the country nullifies the implied status (before we had OWP). But aside from that, we have never been denied re-entry. We even went to Mexico two months after he applied in 2013. Wasn't a problem then either. Just have your documents, OWP, and be honest. ;D

hey amjad, I am on the same boat and I`ve renewed my wife visitor record twice. notice it`s visitor record instead of visa as she is inside Canada. Cheers

I filed inland sponsorship application along with OWP for my spouse. My file is in process but at the same time i also got OWP for my spouse. I did not receive any AIP because accoeding to schedule it will take some 8 month from now to evalaute my application.

My question is that can my spouse extend her TRV on open work permit basis or not.

Please guide me in this regard.

The inland and the outland is two different process. Try to ask your question in the outland thread of your visa office or your application date.

Would anyone be able to clarify if there is suppose to be a receipt acknowledgment regarding OWP applications that were sent with a sponsorship application?

I'm an early October 2013 applicant that received AOR on October 9th, 2013 and the application started processing at the end of the same month. I submitted the OWP request along with my application.

It's great to see that people are receiving their OWP and DM recently!

My wife finally got the OWP!!!!! It's not AIP but we are still very happy!!! After 17 months, finally...

FYI, CIC said they approved and issued the OWP on Jan 5th and we received it today. We live in Victoria, BC.

Congratulation to everybody for receiving DM am OWP.

I've got my OWP today in the mail, case type 27, with a note at the bottom Pending FC Apr, no interdiction to work in health care or childcare even if I had my medicals done in august 2013.

With the WP and passport I got my SIN number
With SA, OWP and CSQ I got my quebec health insurance card without AIP
