Just received my GCMS notes which are dated Dec.15/14. Regarding sponsorship eligibility, status: Not started. Even though the due date says October 4, 2014. They haven't even started on the SA part of my file. Whomever agent RC-9518 is, I hope they get a move on!

All you need is the work permit , license and passport to apply for Medicare. We got that done today too

Do anybody know the combination of ext. numbers to actually talk to an agent at the call center?
It's been 3 months since the last time I talked to someone there!

I'm kind of worried, it's been a year since got AIP and I haven't had any news yet.

Just hit 1 at every menu until it requests the file number and year of birth for the sponsor, you may get the "high call volume & no available agents" message but most of the time I get to speak to someone.

Lets say theoretically we had a SIN and OHIP (or any health insurance) before, but that that expired while we were waiting in processing. When we get OWP and renew SIN, will we have to wait 3 months for OHIP to kick in again?

Hi mattb123, in Ontario you have 3 months to renew your OHIP after it expires.

If you are able to renew it before the 3 month deadline you will NOT have to wait 3 months for it to kick in.

But if you are only able to renew your OHIP AFTER the 3 month deadline, you will have to wait the 3 month period for it to kick in.

I just got off the phone with CIC. agent told me my OWP was issued and mailed yesterday. I also got my OWP app number...Im so happy!! Nov 4th/2013 applicant ..... Nov/2013 applicants should start getting OWP anytime!!
