Maybe they've spent the last 7-8 months working on the new phone system and that's why so few AIPs have been processed. ;)

Whahahaha!

Hi there Civic, I really do appreciate your always responding my posts. I would like to thank you for that. Right now , I'm feeling a bit emotional. I'm very sad knowing the fact that we can not do anything about this issues that hundreds of family are waiting. But when you mentioned about what MP ' s said I'm just hoping that this is going to be true. I will pray harder for all of us who are waiting for so long.

Don't count on the hearsays. Good news are only meant to lift you up emotionally until things do happen. Yes, prayers help. I hope God will respond! :)

Temporary resident permits are for people who would normally be inadmissible to Canada, usually due to criminal issues.

There is a category for family class applicants (See OP 20 "Temporary Resident Permits", Section 5.15 "Early Admission") that are awaiting "routine processing steps". But you'd need a finding of inadmissibility first and if you are inside Canada, you can't be inadmissible.

That's one of the ironies of Canadian immigration: someone with a criminal record that is "inadmissible" can typically obtain a TRP. If that TRP is valid for 6+ months the holder is eligible for an open work permit and health care. Thus, someone with no criminal record cannot work, while someone with a criminal record can work.

Yeah, that's tragic indeed. It seems like the least you follow rules, the more welcome you are and vice versa.

I am getting desperate for some sort of update on the website... even it's to tell me that our lives are on hold for another week!

I haven't been on here for a while but I'm starting to wonder if I should be worried about my application. I sent my application off in early 2013. I was granted my work permit extension which expires in March 2015. I believe I have my AIP also. I have done everything on my own and have not used a lawyer. I know people who applied at the same time as me and have already received there PR. Could this be because they used a lawyer?

This is what my CIC login screen says:

Permanent Residence
We received your application for permanent residence on March 15, 2013.

We started processing your application on March 6, 2014.

Medical results have been received.

There's nothing to do with a lawyer, it's the same for everyone. They are just not working at all... There's no AIP for a long time, and DM seems to be very slow lately too...
