This is strange, the officer asked me to check that in front of him & he took my pic at that time.
He said I will get my PR card in 4 to 5 weeks, he also said I have to wait then to get my SIN but I am going to make some calls 2day to see if I can get it b4. Will keep you informed ...........

i believe the rule changed in july about inland applicants getting SIN #s, so i think you can now get it right after landing instead of having to wait.

The rules were changed this past summer. A few folks have managed to get their SIN under these new rules. Just head to your nearest Service Canada. Bring your passport and your COPR and you should be able to obtain it.

Best of luck.

but anyone know why they ask my photo and correct my name nation date of birth be4 landing ??

It is likely they want to ensure that your COPR is printed properly and they need you to check the information to show it is correct.

same boat! received march 2013... first stage approved jan. 2014...still waiting

Same here! March 2013, AIP on Jan 2014, no DM yet...

Hello all,

I have an update and a couple of questions (they're most likely answered somewhere else in the forum, but I could not find them!).

We filed an inland spousal application in early 2013. In early 2014, we were notified that our file was transferred to the inland CIC office (Edmonton) before completing Step 1. We have just now received a notice to appear at CIC Edmonton for an interview.

We know what the interview is for, and were not worried about it because of the nature and history of our relationship. However, I do wonder what happens after the interview. Specifically:
1. How likely is it for a decision to be made and conveyed to us when the interview concludes?
2. If all goes well, when is AIP issued? On the spot? Few days/weeks/months later?
3. When is final approval and/or PR issued?

I am just curious to know what is next after the interview.

I look forward to reading your comments, specially if you, or someone you know has gone through the interview process.

Thanks!

Anyone here in their 18th month but still not DM yet?

I got my AIP in January,24 2014. I know i still have another month to wait, but I am just wondering how is the progress for the others.

Thanks

Yes I do wait for more that 18th month already. I got the AIP for the inland on early Feb 2014 but until now no news for the DM. Probably I did not send the medical exam together. Do you send it after getting the AIP?

You should call CIC for this issue and extend your visitor visa to be safe, unless you will be in implied status which let you stay inside Canada until the DM. Hope that will help you.
