Are you an inland applicant? I'm just looking at your timeline in the sidebar and it shows your visa office as New Delhi.

Thanks for adding me to the excel. I have yet another question about the application transfer, I have neither received a letter/email saying my file has been transferred from V to M nor does it show in the online status. From what I read on the cic website, it says if CPC-V had started processing your file then it will not be transferred to CPC-M. But I noticed that most of the people had their files transferred . Should I be worried? Should I contact the call centre? Thanks.
I put "Transferred from V to M" for everyone who hasn't received AIP before March, not everyone from the list confirmed that the app was transferred. I don't think you should worry, but if you want, you can call them and ask for a copy of a transfer letter. I called the call centre 2 weeks ago, I tried to ask a copy (it would have been helpful for my case with BC MSP), I was told that I can't have one, because my file wasn't open in Vegreville, but otherwise they could have sent me a copy.

Based on your timeline, you file should be in Mississauga. Did you move after you applied? The letter might have been sent to the old address if that's the case. You can order your notes, which will tell you if your file is in Mississauga.

When I talked to one of the agent few days ago he was telling me that they're been doing all the backlog in a while now and he also said that " I know the processing time has been stretching to 12 months" and then he goes everything will change soon. Hopefully soon. That's what he told me.

I really was hoping to see some good news this week...

We've been planning since this time last year to visit my family in the US for Christmas this year. We keep holding off buying plane tickets because we don't want to buy them and then because of immigration taking so long having to cancel the flights. As it's going right now, I'm really worried we won't be able to make the trip. :(

I know some people have been able to go back and forth without negative consequences, I just don't want to push my luck and end up ruining everything.

Hopefully things will pick up soon, that's all we can do anymore is hope.

I really hope so. I filed my application November 2013 and I'm starting to get worried that the date will come and I will be waiting for an extra month or so like our July applications friends.

My sister is getting married in January and I'm so scared thinking that I will have to travel outside Canada without having my AIP.... It's really scary, but I prefer to stay positive and believe that CIC will give us some good news soon.

Good luck everyone! Let's keep that positive energy!!

Thanks. I contacted my lawyer and turn out she had received the letter saying my file has been transferred but she did not inform me.

I wasn't sure so I called and asked yesterday. I'm May 2013 and I was told mine was still Vegreville. So if unsure, just call and ask. That's one question they should be able to answer honestly and accurately.

Monday will be 13 months since our application was received... I haven't checked this forum in a while, was hoping to see some good news. I doubt we will see anything next week either, we all know CIC will be very tired after their long weekend and won't be able to even think about us inland apps ::) .. Hopefully Sept 8th or 9th things will start moving.

What 'backlog' was he referring to? does anyone know???

Whatever backlog they're working on, at the same time they're creating a backlog now !! family class inland app backlog is 12 months!! wtf!!!

"Everything will change soon" - i really really hope he's right... I'm actually surprised that he said that... Ive called a few times and they say "sorry i dont have any info to give you"

They didn't even update the website this week for processing times. :( I hope they enjoy their long weekend and come back and get a lot done.

there must be a reason for 6 month delay for July 2013. Backlog is not one.

Maybe he meant the backlog from other types of applications. E.g.: Outland, Citizenship...

I believe they have been alocating the staff to other applications. For example, CIC recently announced that they were clearing XX% of the citizenship backlog.

Definitely makes sense, especially after they said they cleared 8% of the backlog for citizenship since February...and February is when things pretty much started going slow as molasses.

Even then, I really wish that trying to catch up on other areas wouldn't have to slow our applications so much. I'm usually not one for conspiracy theories, but I'm starting to believe they're letting inland sponsorships fall behind just so that it will be less desirable for people to apply for in the future, with extreme processing times. There's absolutely no reason it should have taken 6 months for what...2 or 3 months of progress?
