I believe that's how I requested information; although I no longer know the link to the site anymore. I did not pay a fee for my information though.

And what kind information did you get?

Hello there!

Has anyone submitted a request to get information about your process under the Access to Information Act (ATIP)??

yes, you want the access to information act, which costs $5. the applicant will need to sign a consent form for the sponsor to order on their behalf. from my understanding, the free set of notes (freedom of info?) doesn't give full details of the applicant's file.

Does the AIP email go to the Sponsor and the DM email to the Applicant?

Isn’t there some sort of approval email even before the official AIP or DM? And if so does that go to Sponsor or Applicant?

And I would assume the OWP goes to the Applicant? Or does it just come in the mail?

I check my email wayyy more often than my husband, but just curious!

Thanks!! :)

p.s. I’m thinking I should inform my employer I will need a random day (or 2) off for when (if?) we receive our AIP and DM….lol…will say when they see me screaming and jumping up and down that means I need the rest of the day off to celebrate!! ;D ...thinking hopefully towards the future...lol

In my case,

- The AIP email goes to applicant;
- The sponsorship eligibility email goes to the sponsor;
- OWP goes to the applicant via snail mail.

I'm not sure about the DM email as I haven't received one, but I got a feeling that it will go to the applicant as it addresses "the application has now completed".

Also the local office letter advising landing interview goes by mail, instead of email.

My apologies. I believe I just got the freedom of info or whatever it is called. I didn't pay anything, so I don't believe I received information under the access to information.

My husband just phone the CIC the agent said we gonna heard some news by the end of September. and im August applicant why its taking so looooooong.. :'(

Does anyone know anything about visitor visa extensions? I sent mine at the beginning of June as my husbands expires August 13th... I saw on CIC the processing date was June 1st and it has moved backwards to May 13th...? -_-

Hey guys my lawyer received my landing letter today, my appointment's on 15th August.

I have a question regarding this, she forwarded me the scanned copy of the letter, is that going to suffice or would the landing office require the original letter?

Thank you!

Congrats! I'm waiting for my letter as well. I am wondering, are you landing in etobicoke? I'd like to know for a timeline point of view as I am landing there as well.

Hi ACS,

The sponsor receives an email for approval of Sponsorship. The applicant receives an email for confirming the eligibility for becoming a PR. This is AIP.

The applicant receives the approval for OWP in the email and a formal work permit document then arrives in mail. DM email is sent to the applicant.

Take care

Thanks Mocha and God be with us! :)

Hey God be with us,

May I ask how long it took for the formal work permit document to arrive in mail after getting the e-mail approval?
