Did you receive the letter (in the brown envelope) informing you that your application has been sent for processing to CPC-M?

That is the language that seems to satisfy the requirement for MSP...even though it should have ZERO impact on MSP, because you do NOT need to have your application in-process!

I don't have the letter with me at the moment but I believe it was, as noted by Ponga, something like sent for processing. This was conveniently interpreted by MSP so they can meet their internal guidelines regarding in-process. The key is talking to the eligibility specialists and getting past the rote response they have in their form letters.

Hi I'm also having the same issue. My spouse UCI is not working but mine (applicant) does. haha what is really going on. ? We will just laugh now.

Same for me! My eCaas (Sponsor) not working. It always did before. Weird! Looks like it's clearly an issue on their part.

Oh dear.....yes we did send that info but not with lengthy detail.....he does have a dui on his record but im not sure that it complies with the criminal code of canada guidline.....he was pulled over the next day after being out the night before and only paid a small fine as it was a very low reading.....unfortunately in englan it's zero tolerance.....now im super nervous. Hopefully with an interview it might help to give more information???? Omg....thanks for replying

I got to say that despite the fine being small, he was charged with DUI. That will likely make him ineligible to be sponsored as PR.

I'm pretty sure immigration checks to make sure that it would have been a crime had the offence occurred in Canada. Did he blow over 0.08?

Thanks for replying. ...no it was a 0.05

Hey there 2013 inlanders I know the wait is unbearable but your time will come. I have been studying the outland thread and was surprised to see that the visa office of Trinidad and Tobago process outland apps so quickly for straightforward cases average of 7 to 8 mths for full pr makes me feel kinda sad for doing inland.so for future applicants when deciding on your sponsorship with the current wait times for inland outland can be a better option and you can stay in canada with your spouse for the process with a valid visitors visa.

That would not be an indictable offence in Canada. However, if it shows up it means that someone must do additional screening of it and that takes it outside normal processing times.

Here in BC they ticket people for DUI at a lower level than that specified in the Criminal Code. As such, it is considered an administrative offence (like a parking ticket) and is not recorded as a criminal offence.

My husband received the OWP (work permit) on January 30th, 2014 and he has completed the medical that was required and the medical has been received by CIC. I was wondering approximately how long will it take for the next step now? I guess the next step would be the interview? How long does it usually take from medical received to interview call?

While the rules are different here regarding DUI, the husband didn't follow the law of the respective country by drinking and driving even though it is more strict than ours. He is going to have a hard time convincing CIC that he didn't "really" break the law of his country because ours has a bit looser rule over his country. Why should he be above the law in his country just because he is applying for PR in Canada.

Another example. Although it is an unrelated subject. The age of consent in canada is 16. But it differs around the world. What if a person from Cyprus was charged with underage sex with a 16 year old minor even though the child consented, where the legal age of consent is 17. Does this mean CiC can ignore the charge because our law says age of consent is 16.

The point I am making is that while charges may not be the same if it was done in Canada, the charges are still serious charges to convince CIC otherwise.

Nobody should be drinking and driving regardless of the alcohol amount found in the blood, at 0.05 or at 0.08. Remember those on the graduate driver licence system should not have any alcohol period.
