Hmm, when I tried to check our information on eCAS today, it said it couldn't find our information. I've checked it hundreds of times before and it was there. I wonder if that means they might be working on our file and it's just waiting on the status update? (I know, it's a long shot.) It's nice to hope sometimes though. :) More than likely, they're just working on the database or something.

Hi Daizey, after reading your post I did looked the status of my application as well using my husband's UCI number as what I always do. And you know what I used to see on line about when they received and when did they start the process but now it's not there anymore. So I tried my own application number its shows there but the message was like this" we received your application on August 23,213 and we start the process September 15,2013. But nothing like that anymore. Not sure what's going on. I just hope that this is something positive.

Have her take a sick leave from work if by november she doesnt have her Aip! That would keep her job
That could also be constituted as fraud and she could get in a lot of trouble for it. If she doesn't get the OWP in time, she'll just have to suck it up and stop working. She could talk to her employers about her situation and see if they will re-hire her once she has the OWP, but legally, that's about it.

Hi guys,

Anyone who successfully got BC Health Care coverage adding a spouse before AIP could please share what supportive documents you sent along with the form to add spouse to the plan?!
I have CIC receipts for Application and OWP, application mail delivery proof, letter with Case Processing change, AOR.
I also read on their website people on implied status waiting for a work/student permit alone can have coverage.
I don't understand why they make a big deal for spouses waiting on sponsorship applications.

Thanks!

Received coverage for spouse one month ago with same documentation. The case processing change letter was key as it had the wording "in process" in the letter. They did not like that this letter did not have a date on it! Getting coverage took about 3 months of back and for of letters and phone calls with persistence. Finally spoke with supervisor at HIBC who approved coverage.
thank you for sharing this information,
knowing this, I will go on Monday and try again to get coverage, I have tried a few months ago and was refused.
hopefully this time I will be accepted. I keep you informed

I wish you all a wonderful weekend, forget about CIC and enjoy the summer. Fingers crossed that on Monday they will pick up their work and speed up the treatment of our applications.

I did notice another thread on these forums where other people had some issues as well. I do believe it's just a problem they're having after maintenance to their servers from yesterday. I wouldn't worry, if it goes a few days and doesn't fix itself, you can always just notify them that there is a problem. :) I'm pretty sure it'll straighten itself out though.

omg... Still working on July 22nd...how is that possible??? no progress...wtf.... 4 days have passed..

It feels as if they'll never get to September 18th....

My common-laws PGWP is going to expire Nov 30th...... just under 5 months away.. i dont want her to have to quit her job...she has such an awesome job..she cant afford to quit.
I'm sure you'll get AIP before then.

Worst case scenario if AIP doesn't come then why not have her ask her employer to take a short temporary leave of absence and be up front about her immigration situation. If she has a good relationship with her employer this could work I dont see why she should quit her job.

Everything always seems so bleak when you are waiting in the 'immigration' limbo. The 2012 applicants date didn't change for over 8 months at one point. We all assumed it was due to the strike but CIC was adamant that it had no effect at all on the inland applications. It was noteworthy though, that if you take a look at the spreadsheet that Screech maintained for us all, that we almost ALL landed within 12-13 months even after the holdup.

So, my advice to all of you who really don't see an end in sight and feel like you have been waiting forever, firstly, STOP looking at that date on the website, it is quite general and not really reflective of where they TRULY are currently working; and then cross your fingers that CPC M will also have a flurry of activity and be issuing AIP/DM either the same day or very close at hand to one another like they have been for the last year and a half. Even though I know ya'll don't feel like anyone has done anything, look at the ones who have already landed or at minimum have gotten DM and are waiting on landing letter. It isn't moving at lightning speed, but it IS moving.

I posted this a few pages ago but didnt really hear much back and i'm starting to get really nervous so, here it goes.

I sent in my residency application a month before my study permit expired. They sent it back a few days AFTER my permit expired telling me to re-submit it with the OWP application..so i did. I assumed I still had implied status since i had originally sent in my application before my permit expired, and in the timeline on the application I put my current status as implied. I'm starting to worry that i don't have implied, and if I don't, will this greatly affect my application? I applied with my spouse, we have been together for 5 1/2 years and well meet the common law requirements. I would hate to have my life ruined all because they sent it back to me to tell me to get the OWP application. Anyone have any knowledge of this? Should I be fine? Is there anything I should do while waiting? ugh.

She can also submit a claim for EI (assuming she qualifies). While such applications are routinely denied initially, the actual administrative case law supports granting EI and generally such cases are won on appeal.

If your permit expired previous to your sending in an OWP then you do not have implied status. For an inland application though you are not required to have a status in Canada. I don't understand why they would send your entire application back to you for you to include an OWP since an OWP is NOT required to even file a sponsorship application. It doesn't make any sense at all.

well I wrote in a cover letter that I wanted the OWP upon approval (I read somewhere that was the thing to do). Instead of just informing me to send an OWP application along at a later time they sent the entire thing back and wanted me to include it with the application, thus killing my implied status. I didn't know at the time and put that i was currently on implied, i'm worried they'll think I was lieing or delay/deny my application because of "falsified" info. Is there any chance of them simply overlooking it? I wrote a cover letter as said, explaining my situation and everything. I tried to be as clear as I could. Sigh.

If you didn't submit an OWP with the original application then my understanding is that you don't have implied status. My understanding is that it's the OWP application that gives you implied status, not the PR application, so you wouldn't have had implied status even if they didn't send it back. I'm not clear on where or how you informed CIC that you had implied status - did you put that somewhere on the original application or on the second submitting of the application? The fact that you do not have implied status shouldn't affect your application as you can apply for inland PR without and status. Are you still within the time frame to apply to have your status reinstated?
