If you are from a visa-exempt country, than there is a very slight risk to travel after first stage approval. So - if CIC doesn't increase the waiting time next week - you will be good to go this October or November.

You can find here the forum for the 2014 applicant's:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/inland-applications-2014-t179207.1260.html
And the spreadsheet of the timeline:

October and November - you mean - I will receive this AIP? What is it, how does it help and why I can travel after passing first stage?

Sophiee, Ponga, thank you for replies. :)
Do any methods exist to increase the speed of PR receipt? ;)
It looks too slow for me. My parents are pretty old and they will not come to Canada, and they miss me (only child) and grandchildren. :'(
I was planning to spend next summer in Russia.

Still I didn't anderstand what is AIP and how does it help?
The ONLY thing that speeds up the process, is having a solid, clean application.

AIP is the first stage approval `Approval In Principle'. It means that the sponsor has been approved and that the relationship has been evaluated and is believed to be genuine. This does NOT mean that questions about the relationship cannot be asked and/or an interview will be scheduled, prior to the landing interview (that all Inland applicants go through).

Hoping that you get through this and can see your family, very soon!

I don't know if an AIP helps you, but i heard (from CIC source) that if someone from a visa-exempt country, and has AIP (and even better has OWP), than there is a very small risk that he/she will be refused to come back. I don't know what is the case with visa countrys and multiple entry visas.

Dear Sophieee,
can you please give me link on the same table-sheet 2013 in order I understand how quickly the process is going.
Small risks - are still risks. And to begin all procedure from beginning -is to suicide!!!

The ONLY way to guarantee that you will not be denied re-entry, is to stay in Canada until you have your CoPR (Confirmation of Permanent Resident) document, or better yet...your actual PR card that will come in the mail. That's it!

When you attempt to re-enter Canada you are at the mercy of the Border Officer that you encounter. If s/he doesn't like you FOR WHATEVER REASON, and denies you...you're in big trouble!

It's definitely better to be safe than sorry. We phoned and asked about leaving during the process, and they said that even in the event of a family death, you still will not be gauranteed entry back in. It really depends on the border guard. So I would only leave if it was an absolute emergency.

Here is the link for the 2013 Spreadsheet:

First stage approval=AIP ( your relationship and the sponsor is evaluated - sometimes an interview is required)
Second stage=DM ( the applicant is evaluated) once a decision is made you wait for your landing appointment and receive your PR shortly thereafter.

Thank you for explanation, and what is solid clean application?
We married 16 years ago in Moscow, he is Canadian. But we were living abroad -in Russia, Ukraine, travelling a lot. Old kids were also born outside Canada.
And then ONE DAY he decided to leave job. We discussed it and decided to move to Canada, to his Motherland. We moved in 2-3 months, so there was no possibility for outland process.
I sent them 50 pictures from all our Paris-Londons-hugs with relatives and friends. And 3 common kids - it s not solid application?

I really worry about Mexico in March and Russia in July. Children dream about seeing their grandparents and about beaches too...

Come on guys.

We have only 65 people who singed so far.
Let's act and make government people how we feel and fasten this looong process!!!

Immigrant communities in Canada have so little power in the administrative process in this country. Sadly MPs care if the issue benefits their political interest. Under current system, we are very lonely in this multicultural country. We are what they tell us to be. Like deaf people. Please sign. Comment. Tell other fellow Canadians. Tell media. That we are a part of Canada and should be treated fairly.

Yes, that looks like a very solid application.

Did you include an Open Work Permit (OWP) with your application, to give you implied status when your current visitor status expires?

At this point you have no choice but to wait...and wait...and wait, to see how the processing times change with CIC.

Last 15 years I entered Canada 10-12 times and there were no any problems with Border Officer, especially with two kids. Now even 3 kids :D If I have normal passport and visa -why not to let me come? BUT I heard that it stops PR process.

Some people think the petition is unrealistic and go nowhere but that is their freedom of thought. I believe we will see some changes in due course, especially with media support, there will be something new. 100 people is not a huge number compared to other immigration petitions. But we are still a group of 100 different people sharing the agreement on how we believe things should change to make the system more logical.

Hey Civic, we need to keep entering new messages with this link cuz the thread goes pretty fast and some people who log in later might not even know about this...

looked at this link. Interesting why for some people AIP and DM are in the same day and some people wait for several months???
Also I don't understand why it was a lot of AIPs in Jan-Feb and now just a couple!

Yup.. called at the 10 week mark (Wednesday). They told us to call back Monday.
This is so typical of CIC lately. You call back on Monday & you'll end up speaking with some other random agent who won't know what the heck your on about. It's like they just say that to get you off the phone so that particular call centre agent doesn't have to deal with you.
