LOL, now I'm picturing like 4 people working on stacks and stacks of applications, in a tiny office, pulling their hair out. At least that makes me giggle. :D
This is exactly what I picture. LOL

Signed the petition!

Also.. 10 weeks plus 3 days, still no PR card in the mail.
Have you called CIC about that?! Holy jumpin'. That is definitely past the 68 days they're touting on the PR card processing time part of the website...

Somewhere, in one of these threads, is a photo of what is believed to be a CIC `processing' room.

It's almost as bad as what it must look like inside a meat packing plant. :-\

Ewwwwwww!

I am actually picturing a huge office with 50+ desks but only 4 people working and the rest are off to vacations or taking a sick day.. and those 4 people working are having 1 hr coffee break, 2 hr lunch break and 5 minutes smoke break every 30 minutes. There is no way anything can be done in such environment. :p

OMG!! i just saw!! they have increased the wait time to 10 months~!!!

It was 9 months last night! now its 10 months.

This is ridicules!!

I'm so nervous for my common-law partner.
We applied in September ....10 month wait time means that we'd get AIP in July-ish ... her post grad work permit expires at the end of November!!! That's only a 3 or 4 month cushion!! what if this gets delayed 3 or 4 more months and her post-grad expires while we're still waiting for AIP... she's totally screwed.

am i over-reacting here?? what are the chances this gets extended another 3-4 months???

You can submit an 'Outland' application while in Canada (that way, you can leave when you want). I do not see any chance of your application failing when you have a 17-year relationship and 3 children.
thank you, but for this I need to fly to Russia -16 hours, 5 tickets for my family( 3 сhildren, from them one is 3 y.o. and one is 1 month, so not very interesting journey so far) and prepare all documents from beginning ( and we already applied at January). My application can not fail, but I just wondering how long to sit in the country without even possibility to go to USA or Mexico?

For example right now inlands, who are receiving PR, when did they apply???

Unfortunately the wait time is unpredictable - as evidenced by the various spread sheets on this forum. I had my info added to it - and could infer by comparing my timeline with others a bit more of what was happening with the applications & found it helpful.

For us, when we applied the timeline was 8 months for AIP and 8 months for DM for 80% of the applicants. Our AIP was obtained after 10 1/2 months and our DM was obtained in 3 months. A number of people received both AIP and DM at the same time. We found the process confusing and frustrating too.

Hang in there!

Please advise if we applied from Vancouver for sponsorship and PR for me in January - when approximately will I receive PR? ???
Why everywhere the process divided into 2 stages -10 months first and 8 months second? Does end of first stage help?
Is it now all the time 18 months?
Last year I read the person wrote that he applied in January and received PR in December???

I already accepted the fact that all 2014 I need to sit here without travelling :( ( we applied in January).
But for 2015 we planned Mexico for March and Russia for July. Does it sound realistic or I should forget about travelling in 2015 too? :((((((((((((( :'( :'( :'(

If you are from a visa-exempt country, than there is a very slight risk to travel after first stage approval. So - if CIC doesn't increase the waiting time next week - you will be good to go this October or November.

You can find here the forum for the 2014 applicant's:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/inland-applications-2014-t179207.1260.html
And the spreadsheet of the timeline:

The Vancouver office is notoriously slow in scheduling landing interviews. One person [recently] that received their DM (Decision Made) in Oct 2013 just recently received their landing appointment letter...for May 27! Plus...there will be a wait to receive the PR card in the mail (last update was 68 days).

If you applied in January, you'll be very lucky to have your landing interview by March 2015, but...hopefully you will!

No, I am from Russia, it's visa country :( I have Canadian visitor multiple visa. I read that if I will leave the country, my process of receiving PR will be stopped. Also there is possibility that I will not be allowed to come back :(

Leaving Canada for a short trip will not, in and of itself, cancel your Inland application.

If you are not allowed to re-enter Canada (as a visitor, because you are not legally living in Canada yet)...THAT will cancel your application.

If it's just a vacation, I personally wouldn't risk it.

Sophiee, Ponga, thank you for replies. :)
Do any methods exist to increase the speed of PR receipt? ;)
It looks too slow for me. My parents are pretty old and they will not come to Canada, and they miss me (only child) and grandchildren. :'(
I was planning to spend next summer in Russia.

Still I didn't anderstand what is AIP and how does it help?
