Congrats to everyone who received good news this week Its been very good to me I got my owp on Tuesday and immediately got a temporary sin and might be starting work on Tuesday. I remember when I first started on this forum last year during the strike and all everyone was so frustrated with the process even said that cic does not care about immigrants I remember once when they went on 3 months stuck on October 8 2012 a member said that he tears were running down his eyes by seeing that.its just amazing to see how much progress cic has made over the last month.

Congratulations! Did you get temporary SIN number from CIC or did you apply for it?

Hi folks g. Congratulations. This is very inspiring. Just this week, you were waiting for aip and owp, and next week, you will be working. Nice. If you dont mind me asking, did you stadt your job search already prior to approval? Cause i think i wanna do that too but i dont know if thats recommended as I do not know yet when my time would come.

Hi everyone.
It is the first time I post on the forum but reading about people going through the same process was a huge support.
We received AIP and DM today :)
Our application was received on May 23rd 2013 and we received AOR on May 31st 2013.
We called the call centre yesterday to enquire about the status of our application. The agent said it had not been looked at yet and said she would email Vegreville to ensure someone would get to it.
It all went very quickly from there since my partner got AIP today and I got DM 5 minutes later. We could not be any happier.
The landing interview will be in Hamilton, ON.
Good luck to all of you still waiting.

You can search and apply for jobs while you are waiting for a work permit. There's nothing wrong with that. If a prospective employer wants to hire you right away just tell him you are waiting for your work permit.

Unfortunately there is nothing that you can do to expedite your letter clearing Customs. I once received an item from Canada Post even when it still showed that it (a package) had not been released by Customs. :)

Hopefully your letter will arrive on Tuesday (Monday's a holiday in BC, as you already know).

hello Harmin, please calm down, I am sure it is just an administrative problem, don't worry, once they see what is inside, there will be no reason to not release it. It is not against you, please be positive and don't desperate. let the long weekend pass and you will get the happy news, I am soooo sure about it. I cross my fingers for you. Now, forget about it for a few days and take you partner ou for a nice dinner or a movie or just a walk, change your mind. keep smiling, it is a hard and struggling way to PR and you are going to win this battle.
I send lots of positive thoughts and waves to you and your partner :) :) :) :)
