Personally I don't know because we did paid all at once..
But I have read here some people and they do get their landing interview and all their letter says is to pay it that day...

I haven't paid yet and got my interview booked, I think you can pay there at the interview, at least my letter said that, but they don't take cash, just debit or credit

hey guys i hope for all to receive the good news. Ciren cal CIC its not normaly.

Hi all,

Heres my latest news: Had my medical and that has been sent to CIC. However had the dreaded call from the doctors office - they wanted to discuss something with me!

Turns out there is something showing on my chest x-ray and to quote the doctor 'CIC will want that investigated'. So an appointment has been made with a specialist on Feb 6th. It's going to cost $200.

There is some good news in this story though. The doctor just made a passing comment that some do have their medical card at this point in the residency process.

I checked yesterday on the Ontario health site. It seems that as CIC have said yes in principle and I have a work permit I can get Ontario health coverage!

Went today and in 10 mins I had a health card! Woohoo! No consultant fee now, and I can afford to get sick lol.

So for all of you who are in Ontario: AIP and a work permit = Health coverage!

Cheers all
Col

Am I just thinking too much???

We received AIP back in November (13th). We haven't heard a THING since then....nothing.....my husband just did his medical's last Thursday......could that be the reason why we haven't heard anything else back from them???? Everything else they have. Police check etc everything......we just need to pay the landing fee still but that wouldn't hold up anything.....would it??? Gosh this process is giving me grey hair :(

Hope all goes well at the specialist appointment! *fingers crossed!*

My husband just went and applied for his health card last week. Received AIP November 13th coverage kicks in Feb 13th. We are in Ontario as well. Just a reminder to everyone that healthcare will kick in 60 days after you've received AIP. You can still apply for the card, but its only valid 60 days after the date on your AIP letter.

Hi JHWife2011

From my experience I don't think this is a problem. I have AIP, work permit and all other stuff sent off. I think it's down to CIC processing it all. Once they have I assume they'll ask for the PR card payment.

They won't give you DM unless everything is accounted for. So the reason you haven't heard from them is because they can't process your DM until they have medical results. As far as I know, landing fee has to be paid for in time for the landing appointment. I would pay the landing fee as soon as you can and keep the receipt so you have proof that you paid, that way everything is taken care of for your landing appointment when you get DM.

Please help I am so confused. I paid $550 with my initial application. How much do I need to pay for RPRF? Is it another 550? I cant seem to find info on that....Maybe just too excited. :) Wish everyone luck

Ok makes sense I was just getting concerned as we haven't really heard much of anything from them so just made me start to wonder but I figured the medical was holding it up! I'm hoping to see ecas update that they've received the meds annnnnnny day now!!

Egads. Just got off the phone with CIC. I was trying to find out if we had AIP since they have have asked for medical. Turns out we DON'T have AIP yet. The guy on the phone agreed that normally that wouldn't be the way it worked. And he also said that we are definitely past the time that it should have taken to get AIP. So, he's going to send an email.

>:( I am very frustrated right now. I'm glad I called though, because who knows how much longer we would have had to wait to know anything.

But, seriously. We have to call to get things moving? That's just not on.

The good news is that they say they have received all of the documentation I've recently sent in.
