Yslandgurl said:Hi Everyone,
First of all, a big congratulations to everyone of us who have received our AIPs and OWPs. To the rest who are still waiting, keep the faith, never waver. the agents are all working on our files at different levels, depending on the current file they are working on, whether it is complete, incomplete, hard to read, organized, unorganized, etc.
As I have posted a few days ago, I received my AIP thru email dated december 31, 2013. The email further stated that my OWP will be sent separately thru the mail.
Two days ago, I received a call from my brother informing me that my mother was diagnosed with advanced stage liver cancer. When 'that' time happens, I will need to go home to the Philippines. That time could be a short time's notice I am not sure. My question: Will I be able to travel to the Philippines and back with a printed email AIP? will it not cause a problem with immigration that i am not holding the PR card; or OWP card in case I do not receive it in time?
I appreciate all your feedback and recommendations on what I should do to ensure that I will not be having problems during the travel. Thank you.

It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class.
If yes, you call the Régie and ask them which documents are needed. If you don't live near an office, you also ask them to send the registration form.

At least, AIP letter, CSQ and your passport are necessary.
YEYYYYYY HOCKEYFAN! KEEP AN EYE OPEN! good luck!hockeyfan said:OMG OMG you applied a day before me!!!!! CONGRATSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
You can go to your local police station to get them done, the fingerprints. However, it takes up to 20 something weeks to process and finish. I would suggest going to the Commisionaires and getting them done electronically, it will be done in like 72 hours and they can send the prints to wherever you want them to.MaxLet said:Thanks Tomorisu! I just called and they told me to come tomorrow so I can have my "carence period" starting tomorrow! I can hardly believe this is finally moving!
Hey, would you happen to know how to do the fingerprints? thanks!
OMGGGG ME TOOOOO… Hockey fan I hope we get something this weekhockeyfan said:OMG OMG you applied a day before me!!!!! CONGRATSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I was told that electronic prints (Live Scan) cannot be sent across the international border, so you have to submit the old fashioned ink and roll prints on the FBI FD-258 card. The electronic prints are fine for RCMP checks (within Canada).hockeyfan said:You can go to your local police station to get them done, the fingerprints.
