JUST GOT AIP!! Hubby got the email saying he meets the requirements, and I got the letter indicating to take the medicals! im so happy im shaking!!
Please, give me a hand here, with which letter do I go to RAMQ (quebec insurance)? i know we can start getting the card as soon as we got AIP but I dont know how.
Im also ask to submit fingerprints for the federal :S I guess I have to go to the police station or something. Please a hand here?

Hi MaxLet, congrats. Did you receive a letter of AIP like this?
It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class.

If yes, you call the Régie and ask them which documents are needed. If you don't live near an office, you also ask them to send the registration form.

Hi Yslandgurl,

So sorry to hear about your mother. My thoughts about your question:-

You should receive your OWP shortly as it has been approved, I don't think there will be an issue with you travelling back to Canada.
If you don't receive your DM (and PR) by then make sure you have valid Canadian visa. You may be good with visitor's visa, but to re-enter Canada you have to have a valid visa.

I would suggest calling CIC and explaining them your situation and asking for the right way to go about it.

Hi Everyone,

First of all, a big congratulations to everyone of us who have received our AIPs and OWPs. To the rest who are still waiting, keep the faith, never waver. the agents are all working on our files at different levels, depending on the current file they are working on, whether it is complete, incomplete, hard to read, organized, unorganized, etc.

As I have posted a few days ago, I received my AIP thru email dated december 31, 2013. The email further stated that my OWP will be sent separately thru the mail.

Two days ago, I received a call from my brother informing me that my mother was diagnosed with advanced stage liver cancer. When 'that' time happens, I will need to go home to the Philippines. That time could be a short time's notice I am not sure. My question: Will I be able to travel to the Philippines and back with a printed email AIP? will it not cause a problem with immigration that i am not holding the PR card; or OWP card in case I do not receive it in time?

I appreciate all your feedback and recommendations on what I should do to ensure that I will not be having problems during the travel. Thank you.

i just checked ecas and nothing...still in process.

I would suggest going to the Commisionaires and getting them done electronically, it will be done in like 72 hours and they can send the prints to wherever you want them to.

I was told that electronic prints (Live Scan) cannot be sent across the international border, so you have to submit the old fashioned ink and roll prints on the FBI FD-258 card. The electronic prints are fine for RCMP checks (within Canada).

I'M I NEXT to be AIP'd??? Fingers, arms, legs and torso all crossed together! Not being able to access the online services and check my application status hasn't help to relieve the stress!!! :-\
