Hey guys happy new are to everyone, yesterday I received my permit work (no OWP) attached to my company,

Hi m,

Could you explain this one again. You have your own company to work for????

It's probably an LMO

No I meant the company iam working for, actually I work and the company decided renewed my permit work

Ah! Officially have been waiting for 9 months now! I'm hoping the last few months fly by like these past 9 months have! They're working on February applications now. I'm so excited, can't imagine how I'll feel come March! Probably jumping out of my skin, eyeballs glued to my inbox. :)

Chin up guys, 2014 is going to be an amazing year for us all. :)

:) Merry Christmas, I have received AIP letters (email) from CIC today. One for my wife, one for myself.
My file received on Feb 04, 2013. AIP received Dec 27, 2013. Medical exam, OWP, Non-Criminal record within for the application. Can any add me in the spreadsheet to help others to track.

By the way: How long I can receive my OWP? Can I use API letter to apply any Social Cards (Heath/ SIN)?

Thanks

Happy New Year everyone

No, you can not use your AIP to apply for a SIN, however, depending on your province you can use it to apply for your health card. You are now eligible to apply for your OWP if you have not already. If you applied with your initial application it should be sent out to you in a few weeks.

Congrats on your AIP&OWP.

How long I can receive my OWP?
It depends on where you live. OWP is sent by regular mail. If you live in East side of Canada (for example, ON, QC, etc), it might take 1 week.

Can I use AIP letter to apply any Social Cards (Health/ SIN)?
To apply for the health insurance, you can use your AIP letter, I think. However, to get SIN, you need your OWP. AIP letter is not accepted to get SIN.

Hello,

I am new to this forum. Can anyone help me to answer this question.

I applied to sponsor my wife (inland) back in July 2013 but what I didn't know that I can apply for OWP along with the PR application.

Is it too late to apply for the OWP at this point or is there a way to apply for one now and wait until step 1 is clear? Is there a special form that I need to fill? If someone can help me to send the link for the OWP.

It will be deeply appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi there,

Welcome to this forum.

It's not too late to apply for an OWP :) here is the link:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/extend-worker.asp

when your wife receive AIP she will be issued an OWP which will allow her to work.

They will send it via Snail Mail :)

If you need any help on how to fill the forms, let me know, I'll be happy to help you and your wife.

My question is, Has anyone know how long this may take to get approved from the Edmonton office?
