Dear All,

I am gathering info and steps to sponsor my spouse (both living in montreal now). I hope you can help me answer whether or not I need to include fee for CSQ along with undertaking application and supporting documents?

thanks in advance!
Hi 2012FEB.

You send ONLY your PR application (and OWP application if you want) to CPC-Vegreville. Do not include the fee for CSQ and the undertaking application. Those are for MICC.

After sending your PR application, you will receive AOR. Maybe 1-2 months later of AOR, CIC will ask you to get CSQ. Then you send the undertaking application and the fee for CSQ to MICC, not to CPC-V. When you send them, you need to attach the letter from CIC with them.

Wow. For such a long gruelling process the final step is the easiest.

Got there at 1:30, in the office with the VO at 1:35, out of there at 1:45. Literally 15 minutes and that's all she wrote.

Typical questions asked: commited any offense, asked to be removed from Canada, denied entry to Canada, etc.

Looked at our immigration pics, stamped the passport and weclome to Canada as a PR.

Can apply for citizenship in 2-3 years I believe.

Overall today was really easy.

If anyone has any questions about the landing or the entire process please don't hesitate to ask me or send me a private message.

I'll come back once in a while to check in on everyone. Have a good holidays everybody!

hi guys!
congrats to all of you who are getting aip or dm :) your torture is over, lucky you!
i have a couple of questions:
1. im applying inland from quebec. we are in our 9 month wait. when i got married to my hubby i -as in my country's law- took his last name as second family name for me. which means that in my country's id, drivers license etc i appear with his last name. only place where it hasnt been modify is my passport as it hasnt expire yet. i was told cic will use the full name appearing on my passport. should i demand my embassy for a new passport with my hubbys name and send it to cic? my name is so complicated i reqlly prefer to be able to us his.

2. for people who didnt sent medicals in original package. how long does it take for aip to decision made? what can go wrong in this period appart from medicals?

3. what do medicals check for? i mean, lets say i have the flu r something, would it be a bad point for me? what are they looking for? can someone recomend me a doctor in montreal? (phone, price)

thanks guys!! sometimes having our quetions solved helps to stand the stress of the process
good luck to evryone and god bless

Hey guys I am new to the site. I came to know of the site as I am planning to do a sponsorship for my wife. A little about me I am a Canadian Citizen currently residing in the USA on business visa. My wife she is a citizen of India and is living with me in USA on dependent visa. She also has a multi entry visitor visa for Canada. Now I am planning to move back to Canada so can my wife come in to Canada as a visitor and than I apply for her sponsorship inland? Now as a visitor she will get to stay for 6 months in Canada while the sponsorship will take about 18 months inland what can I do for that? Also she is a student in college so will I have to pay international fees until she gets her PR?

Thanks for the help guys and happy holidays.

Merry Christmas, Line.a and to the whole IA 2013 family! If you're traveling, travel safely and enjoy the season with the company you're in. I can't be with my parents/sibling/extended family and neither can hubby but we have each other and that's what matters the most. Even though our journey is not over, I'm glad I have him with me through it all. I'm even making a turkey dinner (to the many Turkey/turkey jokes I can handle from friends/family/husband in relation to my husband who is Turkish, haha) and all the fixings. :)

Yes sure, you can sponsor her inland to get the PR. She will get the implied status after her expired visa, however I recommend you to renew her visitor visa until she gets her AIP (take 11 months). It would be better to apply the Open Working Permit (OWP) with the PR application. For her study, she has to pay as international student before getting the PR. Hope that would help you :)

I think you would ask the CIC first. However i think it would be possible for a short period if you a multi entry visa and show a proof as hospital invoice for your father (that's the emergency case). I think the officer will allow you to reentry the Canada. Good luck for everyone to get the AIP soon in 2014 :)
