hey guys do I just take my open work permit to the service Canada location to get a temporary sin?

Yup, also bring past SIN cards if any, and identity such as your passport.

Tomorrow is going to be a great day people! We'll hear great news, I'm very positive.

This surprises me since I know I had governmental mail forwarded. Some things that are marked "do not forward" (like the PR card) will not be forwarded, but this is the first I've heard that Canada Post will not forward any governmental mail.

Hi,

I was told by the CIC call centre that CIC-related mail would not be forwarded.

I expected a letter from our landing office a few weeks ago but did not receive it. At that point, our address had been changed in e-cas but the old address appeared on e-mailed letters received from CIC. The call centre stated that no letter had been sent out.

About one and a half weeks after changing our addresses with the call centre, a letter was sent out from the landing office to the new address.

As it is difficult to believe the CIC call centre, it is hard to know from our case whether mail is forwarded or not. As has been stated elsewhere and also based on my experience, I still recommend that people change their addresses with e-cas and with the call centre, and then follow up with the call centre to check that the addresses have been correctly changed.

I also recommended that applicants add their sponsors as representatives, since this simplifies communications and makes it possible for both applicants to receive information from the call centre and change their addresses with the call centre.

Good morning everyone! Hope to hear some good news today! I'm still waiting on my OWP to arrive through snail mail. :( Can't wait!

Got the open work permit in the mail yesterday! Valid for two years. Waiting for landing appointment. Is the landing appointment notified by email or a letter in the mail?

Hello everyone. I need help from our senior here. In fact I just applied for sponsoring my wife inland to Vegreville. We applied on Sept 2013. She comes to Canada as student (while the medical exam for student was done on August 2013 when she applied for her visa student). Should I submit her new medical exam to CIC again?
Thanks you for your kindness to respond to me :)

Hi guys. I didn't mean to send negative vibes towards anyone. Sorry if anyone of you thought I was doing that. I was only sharing my feelings with you all.

Congrats on your OWP. The letter about the landing interview is sent by a regular mail.

This is kind of a tricky situation. I can tell you my experience - I did my medical for inland sponsorship in April 2013. I extended my study permit based on that medical and CIC accepted it in September 2013. I would call CIC and consult with them.

Hi everyone,

I have been sending my payroll slip to CIC to prove that I can support my wife.
Will that actually make the process longer because I keep sending new document (my payroll)? I sent it once every 3 months

Thank you

I am applying inland, I am from the UK and have been here since May 2011.
I have all the forms and evidence gathered but I need to do my OWP form. Where do I find that on the cic website?
That website is more confusing than a 3d puzzle ???

Thanks!

Hey ya all on tha boat!
Have anyone of you been asked by CIC to redo your Meds? Mine was made more than a year ago...

Cheers!
