Do you have a drivers license already or do you need to start completely from scratch as well?
Me neither, i got prevented since i had to get cataracts removed from my eyes and i am waiting until i can get a decent pair of glasses so i can see

Awww, that sucks! Yeah, I have a driver's licence. I've been going crazy here, I've been depending on my other half for too long now. Haha

I know what you mean Line.a. My hubby gets to go out of town for work almost 2 weeks in a month. I get so bored especially with this winter season. I cant even go to the gym as i used to walk going there now I cant as its friggin cold outside.

It sucks doesn't it!! haha. i tend to eat too much when i am bored, it's almost dangerous. You are right, this weather is super cold! We live in Calgary and it is seriously too cold to be outside already! I have a puppy and i feel sorry that she can't get her bit of exercise so i take her for a little stroll down the underground parking lot lol!

Did anyone got temporary tax number without asking for it? Husband got letter to return last two payments for gst after he changed status to married,we send them letter explaining that we are in the process for pr and world incom with zero's for past year.They send us another letter to pay,and we did this week,and today I got my number.

Hello Laylalala,

yes a drievers licence is even possible now for you with out a OWP. In ontario you just need a your passport and vistors record.

My Quebec driver's license expired in 2008 and my international driver's license expired in July 2013. Can I get a Canadian driver's license in Alberta on a visitor visa or on OWP?

I think so, as long as you can prove you are a resident of Alberta and you have a valid OWP!

I think what computergeek said is right, you need to go through a medical test to be able to apply for health care jobs. I'm not sure if the OWP will say what fields you can and can't work in

I was able to get Alberta healthcare card based on my marriage license............You need to go to your local registry and present your marriage license, a valid visitor visa and your spouse's healthcare card. They will send you a Alberta healthcard (valid until your current visa).
