I live on the NE side Abbeydale... We are all close to each other that's nice to know how many Calgarians we have here.

Im a Calgarian also (SW).. but only for a week longer. We move to Fernie next week as it was either Fernie or giving up! My partner is away all the time for work now, which I would be also if I had my work visa. So I plan to snowboard the time away. The only way I can keep some sanity. Im just hoping my visa comes though soon so I can go back to work with him.

Have you received AIP yet?

That is exactly what we are waiting for.... fingers crosssed I just checked the CIC on Friday and they updated the processing time for step 2 to 11 months from 8 months... that's the frusterating part because we have already waited for 20 months before we received our AIP and now this... though I was told by the CIC that they normally take max 4-6 months to process the stage 2 and send us landing interviews to come take our PR letters. so I hope that my husband gets his by January or February... I was hoping the CIC will surprise us in January too as i'm due in January for my 2nd baby too.... fingers crossed.....

Did u talk to the immigration agent about it during your interview??? They would probably know more than the CIC generalized website info.

I did call the Immigration today over and over but was unable to speak to an agent today because the automated msg kept saying the CIC is currently experience higher than normal call volume please call back some other time... though I called them early in the morning like around 9... but still got no answer

so no I was unsuccessful in that today but I will call them tomorrow...

So I didn't read your question right... Yes I did ask the Immigration Officer at the time of the Interview how long more it'll take for 2nd stage. she told me that my husband is missing his FBI Cert from the states so we are awaiting on receiving that from the states and then the officer also did tell us that there's no way he'll receive his landing interview before January but it might take 4 to 6 months and if the Immigration is busy then they will take their 8 months time. so hopefully once we receive my husbands FBI Cert they might process his app sooner and he can get his PR by January or February, i;m praying and hoping for this..

Well I hope you get it by Christmas as your Chirstmas present you never know though.. since it's the end of the year the CIC is trying to process all 2012/ 2013 files faster. you'll get it soon too

Congratulations to the users who received AIP and DM. This is week is going to be great for those you barely can't wait to get that email with the good news. I'm very happy for all of you.

Like most people here know, I'm from Calgary as well.. I went to a registry to ask about a driver's licence and they saw the one from my home country (it's all in Spanish) and they told me I can apply and take the test but they asked me to contact a translator and get my Licence translate from Spanish to English.

For those who are in Calgary Downtown I contacted the registry that in Gulf Canada Square (between 9th Ave and 4th Street SW) the people working there are very nice. I did my Alberta Health Care, my marriage Certificate, everything there.

Hello All you sweet ppls.

Congrats to all who have received your AIP/DM/OWP but....

I was actually just on the phone with CIC right now and the agent told me that step 2 for inland canada for PR apps is extended to 11 months unfortunately because they are superduper back logged with so many PR applications coming in that it will take that much time or maybe longer.... so sad...

even sad that my husbands PR application will be affected by that too and he received his approval in October.... oh noo ;( that will be over 3 years for us... I can't believe this...

I'm sorry to give you all bad and sad news but I'm part of it too unfortunately...

OMG that's very sad rifat, I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm trying to keep myself strong, we made it this far and we have to keep fighting.
