Hello!

We were also advised not to travel during the In-Land application process as it does say "in-land" and supposed to be stayed within canada and no gaurantees for re-entry. The border officers say that it should be no problem as long as the person being sponsored has the documents of the sponsorship process and most importantly the document for legal status entering and exiting Canada. CIC has said that it should be fine that the person being sponsored can enter and exit but cannot gaurantee it. The border officers suggest that the person being sponsored do not exit Canada without a good situation such an important family member being ill oversea, unlike just leaving for leisure going on vacation as the person above has mentioned.

Anyone that reads this, can you please comment and share your experience about applying inland and traveling in and out of canada to the United States such as Seattle or a city across the border without problems? My common-law and I want to go to Seattle to her favourite restaurant and for leisure but is worried about affecting our application.

Thank you for reading!
MisterBob

Personally, I wouldn't even consider crossing the border with an Inland application pending...just to go to your partner's favourite restaurant, and for leisure?!?!?! Can you imagine how devastated you both would be if the CBSA was in a bad mood when you were simply trying to come `home'?

There appears to be no official CBSA rule, per se, so it seems to be at the sole discretion of the border agent.

That seems like a big gamble for a nice meal. :-\

Just my $0.02 worth. Good luck!

AH! CONGRATS aakpawan!

I'm seriously considering sending more pictures/proof to CIC... though they might hate my husband and I already because we gave them something like 100+ pages of text message records along with a bunch of pictures with our app originally. Is is even worth it for us to send more pictures/proof? If yes, how would we go about doing this? It's always a difficult call because hubby and I were only together for 9 months before we decided we wanted to be together for the long haul and got married. :/ I'm always worried that they'll only see the number...

Me and my wife have been together for 3+ years been married for 1+ years we sent over 200 pictures when we sent our app initially and sent another 100+ pictures 5 months after with our joint account and credit statements. Just send many proof as you. We sent letters from friends, family and also the church we attend our pastor wrote us a letter too. Just send as many proof as you that will be my suggestion.

Hey Guys I just got AIP and DM email at once and its says

"This letter refers to your application for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law
partner in Canada class.

It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident
status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class.

We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The
Canada Immigration Centre in Calgary will contact you concerning your permanent resident
status.

Please note: At the time of your appointment, you and your family members, if any, will
be required to present the original identification document(s) to the Canada Immigration
Centre. A final decision concerning the granting of permanent residence status will be
made at that time. If permanent residence is granted, the name that will appear on the
confirmation of permanent resident document is your name as it appears on your
passport or identity documents.

[X] Your application for a work permit has been approved and your new document(s) will be
sent to you separately. You are authorized to remain in Canada under the conditions listed
on the document(s). Please read them carefully.

Passports for yourself and your family members must be valid for the duration of your stay in
Canada"
Congratulations, so happy for you ;) ;)

We did send letters from my parents and a few mutual friends, one who attended the wedding and another who didn't, as well with the original application. How and where did you send the additional proof?

I sent it to " Case Processing Centre Vegreville
Citizenship and Immigration
6212 – 55 Avenue
Vegreville, AB
T9C 1W5 "

Make a cover letter and put your file number on it and just let them know its additional documents sent voluntarily to let them know the relationship is still perfect and ongoing.

I have been thinking of sending more pictures(sent about 20) also. But, the consultant says no need to send any yet. I don't know if I should listen to him.

I dont think any harm will be caused if you send more information.

Absolutely not, but why not just see if they request some more info before sending them off? Saves time and money if you ask me! :)

@ Salsal31 and Line.a thanks for your guys input. I am now thinking to apply for gcms notes this week and see if they believe relationship is genuine. If they don't then I will send more and hope for no interview.
P.S. For gcms notes who will be applying for them sponsor or the applicant?
