SENT!!! finally sent in the application today for my wife after almost 1 year of compiling everything. hopefully it all goes smoothly and according to schedule.

any other inland quebec applicants in here or am i in the wrong thread?

Bienvenue à la longue attente! (Welcome to the long wait!) There is an inland Québec thread for 2012 applicants here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/2012-quebec-inland-applicants-t98657.1455.html. I don't know if anyone has started a 2013 thread yet, but I know we have some 2013 people in that thread. You're welcome to join us there.

If French is an issue for your wife, there's some good info in that thread about the language courses available in Québec. I'm anxiously awaiting AIP, as I have a good base in French now, after being here for a year and taking a couple of part-time courses through the military family resources centre, so I'm REALLY ready to get into the full-time intensive program for immigrants.

cool! she's been here for 5 years now and has been taking those free french classes offered by the government, however on a part time basis.

Then she already has a jump on the French thing. I had NO French when we moved here a year ago. It was kind of terrifying at first (husband is military, so he spent 6 months of that year away from home), but I "get by" just fine in French now. At least with simple/routine stuff.

I couldn't imagine how hard that must be to learn French - that's great you learned fast :)

I was excited to re-learn and expand my French when I moved to Canada........ only to find out Alberta has a very small French population.

Oh well, I still know more French than my CANADIAN husband.

LOL! Yeah when I moved to Alberta I was expecting a lot of frenchies but apparently not. I'm surprised most Albertans don't travel that much either.

That's good you know more French than him I suppose :)

LOL at amikety! :-D

I haven't learned "that much," but I'm not scared or embarrassed to limp along in broken French now, and I at least have a base. It was really, really hard at first (my bilingual husband was gone for about 4.5 of our firsts 5 months here!), but it gets better all the time. I hope to be functionally bilingual at some point. If I could JUST GET AIP, that would help, as I could get into the full-time french program for immigrants!

@Jojo1972 and @niks1 both of you have been added :)

Do my eyes decieve me or has the processing time moved on from October 8 to October 12!!!!

Sorry for the sarcasam, but as my application was recieved Feb 2013, I think I'm going to be waiting a long time to get AIP. Should be end of this month, but I think not!!!

You and me both!! I'm highly not convinced we will get our AIPs anytime soon, but lets still hope so. I joined the gym recently, puts off the stress and gives me something to do instead of sleeping in every day! So happy :)

Yes being bilingual is amazing!! Particularly French. Danish isn't used at all out here I think lol.
