hi!

since march 11, the day we sent our sponsorship application, i could just check my status and it says recieved, today ( after 5 months ) i can check my husband status and it says sponsorship in process, and permanent resident application status recieved.

they started to process our application in march 21,2013.

somebody who can tell me how long it will take until i can get any news!!?

It's difficult to tell unfortunately. Did you include an open work permit along with your application? It usually takes months and months before you hear from them. And sometimes ecas isn't always the most reliable thing to depend on. We are looking at between 6-10 months before you get AIP! Hope this helps!

yes i sent a open work permit, but not with my application, application was sent on march 11, and i just sent OWP on july 18.

i dont know the meaning of,

DM
AIP

thanks for the answers!

DM - decision made
AIP - applicant in principal

DM means decision made (can be positive or negative)
AIP means approval in principle (this is the approval of sponsor and assessment of relationship. This is the end of the first stage)

"God be with us" and "bruneian" both of you have been added.
Welcome to the thread :)

Yay. Thanks guri! :)

Hey guys, just joined this forum, although i've followed it for a while. You guys have been a great help to me in submitting my applications, so I want to thank everybody for their advice.

I was hoping to be added to the spreadsheet if that was possible.

My application was received on March 15th 2013
It began being processed on March 27th 2013
I sent my OWP separately about a month later
I sent my Police Certificate, but not a Medical along with my app.

I am from Manchester, UK and I am being sponsored by my Canadian girlfriend of whom I met in the UK. I was on an IEC working holiday visa which expired on June 11th 2013, but I'm led to believe that I'm legally here under 'implied status' due to me submitting a PR application. Luckily, I have a stable job so I wouldn't consider myself in a huge rush to get my PR. I am only 22 and I miss some of my family back home. I know flying out of the country is a stupid thing to do, as i've heard it can jeopardize my application. Does anyone know if the same applies to crossing the border into the states? Me and my girlfriend feel trapped. We were hoping of driving down to Florida for a holiday.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sean

Hi Guri3577,

Please add to my profile - I sent OWP application with my sponsorship application package.
My application was received on March 11th, 2013.

Also, to anyone who knows - I can't seem to send a private message. I am not very familiar with the settings on Canada visa.
Please advise. Thank you :)

You need 10 posts before you can send private message. At 10 posts you'll also get to set your avatar and do other fun stuff.
