that is terrific ! thank u so much for all that info..that helps alot
so the police fingerprints can be done at a local police station here in ontario? just walk in basically and say its needed for immigrations?

I don't know about Ontario. You can call and ask.

The form is from the FBI website. It's a one use form, meaning you can't save it. You have to fill it out and print. Going to another webpage will delete your information.

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/background-checks/background_checks - Select the link in Option 1. It opens a new page. At the top, there's a link for the Application form.

Do not use the Channeler option listed on the FBI website. It's normally rejected by Canadian authorities as it doesn't carry the watermark of a FBI original.

so print that from the fbi website, and get fingerprints done, so are the fingerprints that are getting done here need to be mailed along with that print out to FBI?

Technically you were not out of status at any time since you submitted an extension of closed work permit before it expired. They will process your open work permit when you get sponsorship approval (AIP) which will be in about 6 months. I am in the same situation, now I have a closed work permit and also an open work permit. You can continue to work at your current job till you get the open work permit where you can start working at other jobs.

Thank your for the reply darwinwap! It was a relief hearing that from you. So it is possible for them to approved my OWP even if I still have a valid closed work permit right?

Yes, you mail the form, the fingerprints, and payment together in one envelope. Payment can be a credit card (write it on the form) or money order. You don't need a cover letter or anything else.

You're welcome. Yes they issued my open work permit even when I have a valid closed work permit.

Hello... can I also be added to the spreadsheet? My submitted the application on Jan 4, 2013, and received the AOR on January 28, stating that they had received the documents on January 7th, 2013. I´m applying inland, my husband is with me.

Do you know if anyone has received "application in process" updates yet for 2013 applications? I suppose we are all in the same stage right now? (AORs).

Thanks!
