I'm sorry. What are GCMS? This is first time working through the PR process for both of us. He's been here for 3.5 years and we've been living together for three now. We held off on getting married because his mom had a stroke and my father was dying of cancer and then decided to wait until after his PR so that we could celebrate and afford a wedding. This all just feels so cruel. Like due process is one thing but just being shuffled around for months and months due to some short-coming in CIC's system is horrid.
go to https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/ to order

here is how to order https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_E_dq_uLVo

Is there any good news yet like new AIP/DM? Hoping for the best for August applicants as well as July who did not have AIP and DM yet. Good luck to all of us!

One question.. Is EI "social services benefits"? My hubby were on it because of trade school. It needed us to show termination of benefits if that's the case

No, EI is not social assistance. Most people refer to social assistance as "welfare" or "income support".

To clear up the confusion, the file was delayed for relationship verification. However CIC never updated our address so instead of transferring it to Saskatoon they sent it to Winnipeg. I spoke with CIC and me and the person on the phone agreed that we would keep the file in Winnipeg to avoid another month transfer time to Saskatoon. I'd rather make a trip to Winnipeg and stay in the cue. However, we apparently rose to the top of the pile in Winnipeg over the months only to have them take one look at our address and transfer the file to Saskatoon anyway...so because they didn't update our address a year ago when I requested the change, we are now 1 month into Saskatoon's 8 month timeline rather than 5 or 6 months in. We have not had ANY letters notifying us of these transfers and have only gathered that information via calling in. I was contacted yesterday by someone who told me she applied the same month as us and she got her PR in May...and might be waiting until January just to get scheduled for the AIP interview.

Hello all and congrats to everyone with good news.

I have a question about student visa; hoping that someone can shed some light on.

My wife is a foreign exchange student, she's been in canada for about 5 years. She's currently holding a valid student visa for this coming school year but we've decided to postpone her education for this year because she's expecting a child. Does she need to convert her student visa into a visitor visa?

Thanks in advance.

Nothing yet, but I hope to hear something soon!! I was really hoping to hear more good news this week too, but I'm guessing what with the holiday, not much work has been done this week.

I think the only 2 officers working on our files have extended vacation after Canada day. Sigh... I hope the update moves even if we dont see any movement here. I cant believe we got the bad timing to apply

Nothing yet... still waiting. I don't think there is going to be any update this week from CIC website this week at this pace.

We definitely applied at a bad time! I keep thinking about how much I wish we had've handed in our application in June :P

What's worse, we actually DID send ours in at the beginning of June, but because I signed one section on the wrong line, we had to fix one page in the application and it pushed our received date to August. I kick myself everyday because of that. If I had just not messed up one line, I'd have had my OWP for awhile now, if not be done with the whole process completely. :(
