I'd call their call center 1-800-242-2100 to find out the progress of your app. I'm sure they'll be able to tell you where you stand by now as it has been 7 months. Not unless they requested you to submit further requirements, then that's the time I'd say is a reason for delay.

They did request me to resend a form back in January, and I did straight away. Would that be the reason that my application is not in 'In Progress" status do you think?
Does your application go to the bottom of the pile again if they request another document i wonder?

Thanks for your help :-*

Hi there, it seems to be like that, I was also requested to refill one of the forms and since then my app always shows "app received" when I check ECAS, I overlooked something so simple as not write down my address when I was unemployed for 2 months back in Portugal by 2004...
Back to the end of the pile it went for all I know... Patience is a virtue I had to develop here in Canada...Sigh...

Thats pretty funny.. so I read your post, and I was like YEEEEAH i need to call them. So i took the phone number directly from your post instead of looking up the website.. 1-800-242-2100 and got through to 1800-HOT-GIRLS HAHA
The immigration call centre number is 1-888-242-2100 :D

So I got through to the Call Centre, and told them that I have been waiting over 6 months.. she said becuase of the Oct 8th backlog.. the 6months processing time does not apply. So it could be another month.. or another 2 months... who knows.

That's hilarious! Lol!

Pls tell me you're kidding!!! That can't be right! That is so disappointing! If they're still working on the Oct '12 apps, what the heck will happen to us when there's like several months applicants ahead of us?? This must be a joke! So for apps like me (March 2013) are we looking for a year to find out the decision on our stage 1?! Haist.. :(

I know, at least it gave me a laugh.. you are through to HOT GIRLS haha
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news..
I am on Implied Status at the moment.. and my brothers wedding is on July 19th in Ireland
If I leave the country for it, I will loose the right to work... looks like I wont make it now >:(

At least its FRIDAY 8)

Just a thought.. Since CIC is still working on Oct '12 apps. Does anyone think its wiser to mail them extra supporting docs? Or is it better to wait for CIC to ask for it in case?

I think its best to just play the waiting game. Nothing we can do but wait
*twiddles thumbs*

Hi everyone,

I´ve been away from the forum for a few months (I submitted the sponsorship app for my husband at the beginning of January 2013). We got the LOA at the end of January and have heard NOTHING since then... we are starting to feel very frustrated, wondering what we should do, etc.

I see that most of you may be feeling the same way as cic website shows that they are still working on Oct 8 applications... and have been for a long time now! I wonder if anyone has heard anything.

I have a friend who is sponsoring her husband, who is in Colombia. She submitted the application at the end of January, and they got the ok to get medical and background a couple of weeks ago :( don´t get me wrong, I´m happy for her, but their waiting time like was supposed to be like 18 months while ours was supposed to be 6 months for the first part of the assessment and yet I´ve heard nothing from cic.

Ahh... can you tell I am feeling pretty down and frustrated?

Just remain hopeful. I was supposed to have AIP from April; still no word. And it's a total waste of time to contact the call centre. Call them 10 times for the day you'll get 10 different answers even if you're fortunate to get the same agent

Thanks for the words of support!

Well I hope we can all keep each other posted as soon as someone gets any news.

All the best to all of us!!

So frustrated/worried. My husband's work permit expires in mid-July and we're not sure if his work place will allow him to work under implied status (a OWP renewal application was sent with the application). Do you know if there's any viable reason why a workplace would not allow him to work under implied status until he is awarded his PR status? The company is British, not Canadian so we're a little bit worried that we'll be hung out to dry in the interim of waiting for the application to go through CICs apparently never-ending process. He's currently the main bread winner and I'm looking for a better job, but we're not sure how it's going to turn out.

Any thoughts?

Hi everyone,

So glad to find this forum and I am pretty new here...I would like to join this group and could anyone help to add my name on spreadsheet ??

Category: inland Family
Visa office: Vegreville,AB
App Received : Dec. 17th,2012
AOR received: Jan. 26, 2013
Medical exam: sent with app.

When I used my spouse's UCI to check the status of our apps, the sponsorship app. status shows "In process" and CIC starts to process since Jan. 25th, however, my PR app. status only shows " Application Received" ...is it normal that they won't start to look at my app. until they issue AIP ??

It's frustrating to find that processing update remains on Oct 5th ~ 8th for at least two months...... :(

Hi Sunflora,

Don't worry. I'm as same as you. Sponsorship app: In process, PR app: Application Received. I think it's normal. They might check PR app, though. I understand your frustration. Me, too! But, I believe we get good news soon. :D
