What is the difference of AOR and when your file goes into processing? Do they send you an email to let you know they have begun processing your file seprately from the AOR? Or you just have to check the updates online that you can get once your AOR is rec'd?
Haha yeah my mom in law likes that show too :)
They are all from Humboldt I don't mind it there but boy is it ever a long drive from Calgary :)

I responded in the 2012 thread with my experience. :)

You may want to call the doctor's offices to find out what they charge. The costs vary more within Canada than you would think.

That's quite the difference. I'm hoping it won't be too expensive. But gotta do what we gotta do so can't cry about it haha. I'm more worried about my health issues since I actually had cataracts done on me when I was on my IEC and I was born with rheumatoid arthritis.. But I heard that spouses and common laws can't get denied, right? :)

Any good news lately from CIC? Just got back from a relaxing Labour Day weekend vacation with the hubby and now it seems it's back to panic/stress mode. This 10 months thing is really throwing a wrench in our plans - we had a trip to Washington booked and it looks like we'll never get to go when we planned - might I add that it was an all expense paid trip? :(

Plus our plans for a larger ceremony with his family in Europe was something we were planning on as well (we put it on a future timeline for us and sent it off to CIC) might have to be delayed. We can't finalize ceremony plans until we know how long it's going to be until hubby has PR and doesn't have to worry about international travel. Ugh.

This sucks. I might take Line.a 's advice and go get a nice bottle of wine. :/

Usually numbs the worry a little. I have one in the freezer for later tonight for sure. I hear ya. It sucks. And there is nothing we can do about it I'm guessing /:

There has been some movement on 2012 apps. I got AIP/DM Friday, and a September applicant just shared that she got DM. Hopefully, this trickle of activity will soon expand to a solid flow of good news for late 2012 and early 2013 apps!

And Line.a, I'm pretty sure applicants under spousal/common-law sponsorship can only be denied for health reasons if they have contagious diseases that threaten the health of other Canadians.

This is something I've been struggling with...I've filled out everything for the inland and just gotta do the medical exam and re-send for my prints because they are older than 3 months ::) but I'm struggling as to whether to go through with inland (which I have already filled out) or outland. As of right now if I'm sent back to the states I have no home to go to. I'm married now and I don't want to spend any more time away from my husband than I have. We are newly weds but we have been together for more than 3 years and I truly don't want to keep going through the heartbreak of saying goodbye to him and not seeing him for weeks or months. I want the process to go fast but I don't think I want to risk staying here as a visitor and being called for an interview in the states. There's no way to know for sure that an interview would be waived. I'm even nervous about extending my visit so we can finish up the inland application because they want proof of my husbands income but he is self employed and gets paid in cash ..we however don't have a bank account at the moment. Hoping to get a joint account before the end of month. I wish it was as simple as your married and now you can stay with your significant other but I also understand why it's not that easy ..but it shouldn't be this hard either... :-\
If you're from the US, it is rather unusual to be refused the ability to remain in Canada. There's nothing in law or regulation, but the reality is that Canadian/American couples are very common. With three years together and no other red flags, your chance for an interview is nil. I'm from the US originally and we had several red flags (my prior refusal on A38 grounds, our 18.5 year age difference, a major income disparity, and the fact my spouse's parents didn't know we were married) and didn't get an interview - and that in spite of OP 15 saying that I should be interviewed.

So is it guaranteed? No. Is it likely? No.

So am I reading this right, because I think I saw it in the other thread as well, for whatever reason you got AIP and DM at about the same time? How does this happen?

Also I haven't had my medicals done either, I thought they would send a request and I would do it then, at least that's what I thought I read when I saw the option for not sending your medicals in the application!

Yep! I got a call last Thursday evening, a gentleman from CIC who asked me to send a copy of my passport. We sent the fax Friday morning, and he called that afternoon to say he received the fax (we had some trouble the night before). At around 1pm, I got an email from CIC - it was AIP. I freaked! (It had been 10 months and one week since my app was received.) Then, not even an hour later, I got a second email from CIC - it was DM! I REALLY freaked.

I had read that some people received AIP/DM at the same time when AIP took a long time. I hadn't quite dared to hope for it. We were very lucky.

CIC will send a request for your medical. I opted to do mine earlier, as I was stressing about a lack of medical prolonging my application. I was advised NOT to do my medical before the CIC request by a call centre representative, but I decided to do it anyhow.

Hey guys,

My girlfriend is currently filling out the forms for the inland application for family - common-law PR.

She is currently living in Canada... she's been living in canada for 6 years, and with me for 2 years. She is currently on a post-grad work permit. She's got a year left on the visa and i know that the INLAND application will take a total of 18 months aprox...so we will also apply to extend her post grad work permit.

We have tons of pictures, and a joint bank account, apartment insurance and lease agreement that are co-signed and testimonials from friends and family so i dont foresee any problems. She's done the medical exam too.

Any tips or anything else i should know..we have not sent the application to Ontario yet... just want to see your guys thoughts.
