I *still* have a love/hate relationship with the call centre. Last week they said Vancouver landing office timeline was a month for the landing interview. Today they said 5-6. I never feel like I can get a straight answer.

Similar situation here trying to schedule an interview with Ottawa. They are currently 4-6 weeks behind...

Do you know what this timeline means? Since I don't trust call centre any more..... They said my interview would be scheduled 4-6 weeks from DM day.

Sorry for repeating...I think my question went unnoticed in the wake of the good news :)

Question...

One of the countries my husband (applicant) required a police check for, Costa Rica, is on the list of countries that you need to wait until they contact you to get the check done. We still haven't been contacted for this, but in the interests of speeding up the process, we want to start the process of getting it done.

Would not having this hold up AIP or just DM??

I could be wrong, but I think Police check is required for DM. So I doubt it will delay the AIP.
I would go ahead and get it done as soon as possible if I were you.

I am not really sure.

I don't really trust the call centre eithet which sucks because that is our main source of info. I do understand conditions in the backlog change day to day but to hear "1 month" and then "5-6 months" a week later is unsettling.

Thanks Johnny. 2 Thumbs up ;)

We are contacting the Embassy to ask how we can get the Police Check done. As you normally have to go IN person in Costa Rica to get it done. Which of course, my husband can't leave Canada...And the Embassy is closed today and tomorrow as apparently the President of CR is here in Toronto.

COME ON......AIPs for both of us this week!!!!!!!!!! :D

I am now starting to hit refresh on my Inbox in earnest. Before I wasn't cuz I knew we weren't up to our possible time to get anything...now that we are......my refresh button is gonna wear out! lol ;D ;D

currently cic is hanging up on you due to volume of calls...what does that say?

In my experience this is the case 85% of the time. Nothing unusual.

Their recorded message used to tell the least busy times to call back, but that was like last year or even before that.

Thanks for all the congrats guys ! I just received the AIP letter to my email an hour ago ! :)

My wife went to the embassy to ask whether she could request it from here. They said they couldn't and they told her to contact one of her family members (back in her home country) to request for it and send it to us. I remember that my wife had to sign some kind of a letter(or form) to give her brother authorization to request the police background check for her.

I know I won't be able to focus on my work the whole week!!! >:( :P

Great info. Is that for Costa Rica as well?

No, my wife is from South Korea.

To anyone who has rec'd AIP lately...does anything change on your eCas? And if so, how long until you noticed an update?

Wow what a pleasant conversation with CIC. Basically said nothing but said our file was very clean cut and we will hear within the time frame but they cannot say when and cannot do anything until then. So fingers crossed.

Yes, they rarely ever give any useful info. And often contradict themselves if you call more than once and ask the same thing.

I once had one tell me there was lots of work done on my file, and another months later tell me basically nothing had been done. When I got my GCMS notes I saw the one who said nothing had been done was right!

I have new GCMS notes coming around Nov.7th....wonder if I will already have AIP then?? Sure hope so!!

When did you apply todare?
