Does anyone know if you can use the registration you signed in the church to send with application and then send in the actual marriage certificate when it arrives? It takes so long to get the certificate.

We sent a Record of Solemnization of Marriage with our application. We were given this document after the wedding ceremony, and it has date and all signatures (witnesses, officials and ours). Two month later we sent a copy of actual marriage certificate. It works.

Thats true, another one of an applicant applied in 2011 forum... it took her exact one year.. so yeah... i have no reason they take long either.. but sometimes it worries me lol. Did they ask you for any additional info or client update form?

Haha yeah i know, but its fine as long as your genuine applicant.
I filled all forms on website, my lawyer reviewed them to make sure.

I just got by mail yesterday my work permit OMG!! Sooo happy , I can finally look for a job and is for valid for 2 years, so it took 8 days from the email we got October 2nd to arrived and was issued Oct 3rd, oh and my Ecas said my medical were received, I'm so excited we even start to look for airfare to go to my country for Xmas.

I'm hoping more ppl get news if somebody else are having work Permit or updates please , let us know sO the ones that r waiting will c things r going fast 8)

Try calling CIC now since they are past the March Applicants, now you can ask them why you didn't receive a message as they are into April applicants now.

Great news Karito! I am happy for you!

I am waiting for the work permit to come in the mail too.
However my lawyer told me that I can start to work from the day I got the AIP. The actual work permit is important because only with that you can get the SIN number and therefore get paid .

Congratulations to everyone that got AIP and good luck to the others that are waiting, I hope you will get it soon!

So it's confirmed...

We got in contact with CIC today, and they said that my sponsor was approved. So, I got AIP on October 4th, and they have started processing my application that same day.

The confirmation letter was issued too, and I should get it this week.

Hi Karito,

Im thinking to book the air ticket to go back my country at the end of January, but Im scared that I wont get my PR card on time. As my PR application is in processing right now, I dont know when I receive the DM and when my landing day is. My question is: Is it possible if I can leave Canada without PR card ( but of course I must attend the landing interview )? During the time that Im not in Canada, can my husband receive it, and send the card to my country for me, in order to go back here?

Just spoke to cic, they said wait a bit more.....
