I will be joining this group.
I have filled out all the necessary forms to apply PR for my wife. Since she is currently living here in Canada with me, I suppose I will be applying for the Inland Application.
I am the sponsor, and my wife is the principle applicant for PR.
Here are the forms I have completed:
(1) IMM 1344 (application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking)
(2) IMM 5481 (Sponsorship evaluation
(3) IMM 0008 (Generic Application Form for Canada)
(4) IMM 5669 (Schedule A)
(5) IMM 5285 (Spouse/Common-Law Questionaire)
Am I missing any forms that me or my wife should be filling out? I heard the Medical is not necessary until CIC request my wife to do an examination, right?
Additionally, my wife is currently waiting for her study visa extension to be processed.
It expired as of end of May 2011, but she applied for it in May 10 2011.
As of August 10 2011, we received a letter from CIC indicating the processing took longer than anticipated. The submission will be reviewed within 16 weeks from the date of the letter (which is August 10 2011).
That means she is legal to stay in Canada right now?
Another problem is, she is still waiting for acceptance from George Brown College for a program that does not start until Jan 2012, she was going to apply for the program that starts in Sept 2011, however, the school applied the program too late for her and it was application for Fall 2011 is already closed. Hence she can only apply for Spring 2012. Not too sure if that would affect her study visa permit.
From reading some posts within this thread, I have notice some of you applied for the visitor permit while waiting for the PR application to be processed. Additionally, I noticed you submit the visitor permit application along with the PR application.
Can someone eleborate on this?
Did you send in both different application within the same "mail"? Or did you submit "two mail", but submit at the same time?
Now, my wife originally was from China. According to the CIC site, she needs a "Temporary Resident Visa" and to apply for it, my wife needs to fill out the "•Application for Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside of Canada " form (IMM 5257)" and a few other related form. So does this mean she can only apply for it back in China because she might need an interview back in China to get the Temprorary Resident Visa for Canada?
I am a little confuse on that, to put this in simple terms is:
If my wife is currently waiting for her study visa, and she is residing in Canada now. Also, we are working on the PR.
(1) Can she still apply for the visitor visa (I guess a.k.a. Temporary Resident Visa)? Will it conflict with the study visa application?
(2) Can she still apply for the visitor visa while in Canada? Any link or form I should be looking up to fill out?
Thank you for patience and time to do this long read. Even more appreciated to those that can shed some light and give me some feedback. I am worry as I don't want to be apart from my wife, and she is pregnant right now.
Regards,
Walter
