IMM 5481 Sponsorship Evaluation

Hello everyone,
I am on the process of filling up my forms to sponsor my spouse in the states. I am stuck with question 3. Your net personal income (your net personal income for the 12-month period preceding the date of your application). I am currently unemployed and I collected employment insurance when I left my job last year and it ended this November. Do I put that as my personal net income?
I am not sure :-\ and preceding means before I submit the application right?

Hi sunnydelight, I had a few weeks of EI in the year preceding (before) my sponsorship application, too. I included the money I received in EI in my net personal income.
