I want to know how and why have the no of ITAs increased from few hundreds to 3500+.

Also how low can the CRS go, assuming the max no if ITA per draw is 5000(I am assuming that is the maximum)

Looking forward to discussion with experts

The CRS is falling as number of invitation are going up. But soon number of invitation will fall as they have a quota for each year.

A main reason they are going up is that all paper based applications for residency are now all done. When EE started, IRCC had 2 years of paper application back logs to get through. That took until the end of 2016 and definitely counted towards the annual quota. Now that everything is online and all the paper applications have been processed, all 2017 and onwards applicants for permanent resident come under the online EE system. Thus, invitations will generally always be 2000-2500+ per round as all quotas now come from the online system. This also help explain why required points are falling, since so many people have been invited in the last 4-5 months. :)

So the points will fall till they reach the target intake for this year?

Yes, I think they will fall a bit. As to how much I have no idea as people enter the pool every day and people get provincial nominations and get 600 points from that. A YouTube video I saw from an IRCC official said probably around the 400 point level.

Hopefully, it can reach 400, even I still think is difficult to get down 410-415. What for me is highly improbable is that reach less than 400 points.

How much is the economic quota for Canada, coz ITA does not count no of dependents..

I am thinking that candidates in the 300-400 score bracket are the biggest part of the pool so IRCC can't admit a significant number in one draw.

I cant trust CIC or wait for them to drop scores. They are very unpredictable.

But what is the annual quota for EE including dependents?

75,300 people.

Here includes:

Federal Skilled Worker Class
Federal Skilled Trades Class
Canadian Experience Class

between 69k to 72k for FSW, CEC and FST for EE
and app. 1/3 of all PNP (those stream that go through EE) - that is app. 18k

So in total app. 90k immigrants (including accompanying dependents) go through EE.

Amount of ITA depends on the mentioned above quota, on the size of an average family and on the % of the success to transform ITA into visa.

Express Entry draw list: 2017
Date #of ITA's Min. CRS
Draw 51 January 4 2,902 468
Draw 52 January 11 3,334 459
Draw 53 January 25 3,508 453
Draw 54 February 8 3,664 447
Draw 55 February 22 3,611 441
Draw 56 March 1 3,884 434

The problem is not in the score itself. The problem is with the huge amount of the invited applicants . If they want to stick to their quota they have only 2 options:
1. Drastically reduce or even stop for some time ITA
2. Do lot of rejections (at this rate we would be speaking about 50 to 60% of failed ITA).
