Help! Marriage certificate

anyone know if there is a way to extend the 60 day deadline to send in the requested papers.

it said in the email if not recieved by 60 days your application may be rejected.

i dunno enough to trick the notary and since they dont send a real one to the cic they send a copy and a certified notarization saying its a real copy of the original.


but wife wont let me she saying what if they check... :-[

your wife is right cic and ircc is not stupid

OK we heres an update.

we went to lebanon and got it stamped at the ministry of foreign affairs. So it should be registered. then we stamped it in the ministry of foreign affairs in dubai.

so can we just send that. because the cic has our original book with our relgious stamps. not the offical gov stamps. but i asked them to give me a paper saying its registered and the lebanon embassy said we dont do that its just our stamp. to get our stamp means its registered.

will the cic notice that its the same book they have now but with the new stamps?

ofcourse its a copy translated i still need to find a notary in dubai. the police report is still being worked on should be done in a week.


so its ok to send the same book marriage certificate they have now but with the new stamps?????

so originally we sent our religious wedding certificate copy and translated with just the druze stamp from the highest druze priest in Lebanon.

they said they want a civil document.


so now we got the original stamped from the 2 countries and now its registered. So now i send a translated copy again of the same original but now it has 2 official civil stamps from 2 govs.

I think you should also send a notarized copy of the stamped original along with the translated notarized copy.

but Lebanon doesn't give us a new marriage certificate they just stamped our current one religious marriage druze.

No one on here is going to be able to say if they will accept it. All you can do is send it and wait.

The problem I see is Lebanon doesn't have "civil" marriage, though you can register marriage from another country. I can only assume other Lebanese immigrants have satisfied immigration with this. Did you submit the paperwork "Request of Marriage Registration"? I'm far from an expert in this, but that's what it says on the Lebanese embassy website.

Provide a clear explanation stating that is how marriages are officially registered in Lebanon.

yeah i spoke to the lebanon embassy in dubai and they said we can go there for the registration but its only a stamp. so i'll go get another stamp in a day or two when im free and then just send it.

why would they need a explanation tho dont they deal with these all the time from lebanese people?

Well, you said they are requesting "civic Marriage documents" but you can't get such a thing as Druze in UAE nor Lebanon it seems, so maybe they don't encounter that very often....
