Marriage certificate not available - options?

Hi,

I am applying for TRV for my parents. After I filled out the application online, in supporting documents it is asking to upload marriage certificate. However, we don't have their marriage certificate. I don't remember this requirement from when we applied for their visas 10 years ago.

Has anyone else faced this issue? What are my options now? Is it fine if I just submit their passports which have each other's names as spouses? My birth certificate also has their names.

I searched on this forum for any past post, however could not find anything.

Explain that they don’t have a copy of their marriage certificate. Would include other government documents that show them as married like your birth certificate as you mentioned.

When did you apply for their visit visa? I mean was it recent and through new portal? I'm in the same situation. I hope alternative docs suffice.

Did you apply without marriage certificate? Any update on the file? I'm gonna apply and I hope alternative docs suffice.

that was long time ago but also I used affidavits for their PR file too and it worked
