Hi laomiao: Same here buddy! Getting unusual pain on the shoulder these days.....thinking all these waiting and nothing from the other end!!! Losing body weight too......What to say.....Can't even cry!

Laomiao and SingaporeVO,

Hey, We're all in the same boat. Anxiety is becoming a constant companion, can't let it run our lives. Stay strong. I believe love and good intentions will eventually shine through and we will be reunited with our spouses and families!

SingaporeVO - I like your footer quote - so apt! If I may, another one I have found to be helpful and inspirational:

........................

(from writings of Ming dynasty Chinese sage Hung Ying-ming)
...
When you train yourself with both suffering and joy,
Ah, what blessings come when this training is taken to
the extreme:
They are for the first time, blessings that last.

When you think things through with both doubt and
faith,
The knowledge that comes when this thinking is taken
to the extreme
Is, for the first time, a knowledge of truth.

Thank you FlashG. Although it is little tougher for me to remember, but a good one!

Hi Computergeek: Until recently my ECAS was saying "your application was received on May 2012" .......but lately I noticed it is saying in ECAS " Your application was received on September 2012". Why is this inconsistency in ECAS ?? Do you consider as a typo. I also changed mailing address lately through ECAS. I see this change after changing my address. I don't know what to do ?

Anybody has any suggestion....please.....Thanks in advance...

The May 2012 is probably when the original application was received by CPC-M and the September 2012 is when it was received by the visa office. When did you get sponsor approval?

Can someone tell me the procedure to order the notes
Can u please tell me how to fill out the application as well ?
I want to do it today

To request GCMS notes, use the CIC website process at the following link:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

All the information you need is on the website. You must be in Canada to make the requests. It's pretty straight forward.

If requesting on behalf of a spouse applying to immigrate from outside Canada, you will need the signed consent form to release information to you. Also available on the website.

Good luck

It says which act? Is it access to information or privacy then there is which one? Case numbers or corporate i think case numbers?

Sorry again
Its asking me date of birth
I am the sponsor living in canada and my husband is in usa
Is it my date of birth or his ?

You want the Access to Information Act

Is it electronic or physical?

Usually want electronic, it should be quicker and easier for them to get with no delays. Requesting physical means they have to pull the physical files from the VO and copy them - could slow down the file review process.

Look under what section the form is asking for date of birth. It is only needed for the person whose information is being requested - i.e. for your husband. You are the sponsor and the "Requestor", your contact information is up front. Near the front also there is a question - "Are you requesting information on your own behalf? - the answer for you is "No" (because you are requesting information for you husband". Then you will need the signed Consent Form from him to include in your application (a scanned PDF/JPG of the signed form is OK for electronic applications). I would use the new online application as it is a little bit easier and you can pay your $5 with credit card on the web site.

Got it? It takes a little bit to wrap your head around, then it makes sense.

I think i got it
The date of birth ia under Act and record selection so it meana they are asking my husband's date of birth.
Also i selected case files and not corporate am i rigt?
Another question is:
We have one client number or me and my husband will have different ones? Which one are they asking it is also under act and record selection.

You got it.
1. Yes - case files
2. Your husbands client ID.
3. I think you might be asked for the File number also - "F000 _ _ _ _ _ _ ". If so, put it in too.
4. Easiest for most people to receive the records via e-mail so choose "e-mail" and not "CD".

Just saw this in the automatic response email from ATIP and would like to pass along the information, especially for those who are used to sending emails for GCMS month after month, like myself

"You can now submit your request using the ATIP Online Request tool, which is accessible via: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/ or send your request by mail.

As of May 13, 2013, we will no longer accept ATIP requests submitted by fax or e-mail."
