so, if they loosen up a lot of restrictions on TRV, then TRV will be more and more similar to PR?
Will this cheapen the value of PR?
Also, a measure like this will only drive CRS inflation and will not make it easier to transition to PR right?

I guess, a good step!
1. Getting extremely talented folks to Canada. That sounds like a good step. Right now, through EE, Canada imports very less talent(maybe 10-25% is even skilled). If they actually bring good folks, it has a huge potential for Canada.
2. Digital nomads bring business. Inviting them brings a lot more cash than a tax payer. Successful digital nomad programs create a thriving community too, brings network effects (mentoring, talent nurturing, ...), etc.
Crs inflation is mostly due to backlog and pgwp public policy I think.
It doesn't make any sense for PGWP holder to enroll in schooling as you won't get much points especially when compared to getting an actual job

I saw this too but I doubt it will make any difference now.
Recently in India a person known to me through someone else rejected an offer to move from India to Canada despite intra company transfer on a work permit and a starter salary of 150k cad.
His research was simple, he called a few friends who were living in Canada, did some basic calculations and came to the conclusion that he would save negligible money after taxes and the cost of living for him and his wife + children in GTA + 2 hours (London, Barrie, etc. )
Yes .. this is anecdotal stuff.
Canada has completely lost its aspirational image in the world to people who are decently well off. This tech stream will surely bring in more people, but I doubt many will stay back for the complete work permit to Citizenship path.
Edit: The only kind of people I know nowadays thinking about moving to Canada in any form are low-medium skilled individuals. Tech and growth in general is supposedly booming in India, then there is the Middle East which is currently in a somewhat of an oil boom.

Got an invitation for arrima last week, and at the same time I retook the IELTS and now I'm sitting in the EE pool with 480, noc 21234....
I'm not sure if I should go ahead with arrima or wait for one of those noc specific draws, or an Ontario tech draw....
Maybe I should start the arrima process while waiting for an EE draw even though that would mean to lose the money that I paid...

Pay for Arrima and wait for EE if losing money isn't going to impact you significantly. There's no guarantee that 480 will get an ITA.
It isn't actually about money, but about processing times... the process of arrima is longer than express entry. I will probably get an Ontario NOI next draw so its a little hard to decide.
Does anyone know have clarity in regards to the following rule -

Past 3 years from when? AOR or profile creation? and what happens to the 10 year work ex rule then?
For example if someone has work ex older than 3 years but does have 1 year work ex in the last 3 years too. So then does this eligibility criteria mean that the work ex has to be recent 3 years only?
Not an expert, but my take -
1. Past 3 years is from AOR
2. The basic eligibility for category based draw is that the profile should first qualify for EE either through - FSW, FST or CEC. So it remains same, just that additionally to qualify for category based draw, you might need to have experience as you mentioned.
These category rounds are sizable. Probably smaller "No program specified" draws in future?
