Good morning.
I heard non-confirmed news that our files have moved to Ottawa mid-July, if yes, I think this will be great news, but we need to confirm it, I will try to call CIC tomorrow inshaa, may I ask you all to do the same, and please post here how it goes.

A side question: my magic jack stopped working, I called my ISP "Noor", and they said as per government instructions, all VOIP is blocked, is this for all of you?

Correct AlMohager, I checked and yes MJ still works on Mobinil only, I tried it on Noor, LinkDSL, TeData, and Vodafone but not working. I just wanted to know if anyone knows about any DSL ISP (not mobile data) that still has VOIP open , please tell us.

i tried it from tedata connection and it's working normal

Weird, I tried it from Tedata as well yesterday and didn't, I know another friend who has Tedata as well, I will do another check insha Allah and see.

I call them using the viber out. it work very smooth and the voice is clear.
but every time i called them (in the beginning of this year 2015), CIC replied that the file is in Cairo VO and they don't have any upper hand on them and they can't do anything regarding the file or expediting it.
i have another idea, we can ask Cairo VO by e-mail if they are going to process the file in Cairo or they are going to send it back to Ottawa?

Thanks for the advise on viber out,
One call to CIC will clear things out, if we send to Cairo VO, it will take ages to reply -if they reply at all-. I highly recommend we all do call CIC and if the answer for some of us is the files have moved to Ottawa, it should be correct (inshaa Allah ).

I called CIC and they told me that my file is in Cairo VO, I hope many of us would give them a call to make sure this information is correct.

I did call them too, couple of times, the first time the one who answered me wasn't helpful and he said that the file is being handled by the two offices (Cairo and Ottawa) and if I want to send any update I need to send it to both of them. The second one who answered my call was a lady called "Habiba" and after a lot of discussions she said that the primary office is Cairo and Ottawa is the secondary office and there are communications between the two offices happened in mid July. Again, she said if you need to send an update, address it to both of them, and she asked me to send an email to Ottawa to ask them about where my file is exactly.

The conclusion, I didn't get a "definite" answer about where exactly my file is, but I sent an email to Ottawa as advised.

We need more people to be more positive and call CIC and check otherwise we won't know.
