For last few days, I haven't noticed anyone sharing news on CC charged or DD encashed.
Has CIO stopped working. I think it was a holiday for them yesterday.

But what about today ?

Ok...I just recalled ..not sure though ...that the date of issue of reference letter should not be more than six months at the time of applying...could you or anyone please confirm that?
Well, I just rechecked the Instructions Guide and Document Checklist. They only mentioned the need to provide reference letters but no mention of age of the letter or dating. Let's hope for the best since the letter contains the employment requirements of CIO. Cheers.

Thanks man....I remembered now...one of the consultants I was talking to before applying told me that....

one quick question ...do you know CIC work timings?

My case is also similar. My file was submitted on 20th May. DD has not been encashed yet and it will expire by this week. Consultants are saying they will ask for fresh DD in case they do not encash it before expiry. I have my doubts. I just hope they do not return my file back and ask me to again get in the queue after getting new DD

There is lot of worry around DDs. Credit Cards are safer, but then not all people have it (especially ones with international validity).

Why does no one go with the 3rd and the most reliable option, MONEY ORDER ? You just can't go wrong with it.

I guess this is all about the impatience of getting to know whether the application went through or not. No one will know if they charged you or not. But you can be rest assured, if your application is alright, they will get the money for sure. Otherwise, you can always en-cash back your money order.

Regards

I disagree with you that payment by CC is safer than DD. They have clearly mentioned that the expiry date of the DD should be at least 5 months from the date it reaches CIC. So if the DD is valid for 6 months then it should reach CIC within 1 month of being issued.

Nope. They are still in the momentum of holidays. Respecting Newton's First Law.

Thanks Buddy.. Its stated in the main statement for FSW in CIC website;

"at least one year of continuous and paid (full-time or an equal amount in part-time) work experience in a single occupation,
within the last 10 years,"

What this means is that to apply under NOC XXXX you must have the requisite minimum of one year in NOC XXXX. You can get points for experience in other NOCs.

I didn't get your point.

Anyhow, validity of Credit Cards is much longer than DDs. Why would you then not consider them safer ?
