Hi Dude, BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU FIRST!!
I've got the same question as you. My application was received by CIO on 5 Sep, however, I lost my credit card 1 week later!! :-( Suggested by forum bros, I sent the additional payment form with the updated credit information with my name, DOB, Passport number on the cover leter and it was received by 22 Sep. Here are my questions:
1. I hvn't sent the email to CIC and metioned the additional forms yet, do I need to also sent them the email for that? If yes, what's the email address?
It would be a good idea for you to send a mail to CIC [CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry@cic.gc.ca] asking them if they got your additional documents and if it was attached to your original application. You should even ask them if your application has cleared the completeness check so that u need not worry about CC charge. But I think you should send mail after you are sure that the completeness check for the apps received for Sept has started. Or else, they will just tell u that they do not have ur application as it would still not be cataloged. Keep looking at the forum for such info which normally is found due to rejection in completeness check
2. It seems like in your case, CIC charged your CC based on the 1st additional docs you sent. I've heard CIO will start intial screening 2 weeks before the charging, therefore, did your 1st additional document arrive before the initial screening, that is before Sep?
Yeah completeness check starts well before CC charge. Am not sure about the timelines for this check. But on the forum, a 4th June applicant, Grace1978 was kind enough to tell me that her completeness check was dated 3rd september. My 1st additional document package reached on 19th August
3. I've been told that in some cases, CIO will replace the original documents receipt date with the additional document receipt date, but it doesn't happen in your case ,right?
This has been proved wrong time and again. Many seniors assured me of this prior to my CC charge.
Hope you could help me out, we are the birds with the same feather...thank you in advance!
