In strict legal term, the bank cannot encash it after expiry of the validity date. As it is CIC, so bank is honoring - I guess.

If nothing is written, the default validity of DD/cheque is 6 months.

Thanks Century. +1 to you too. I remember someone from the forum had quoted a few weeks back that whatever is written on the DD, it doesn't matter. International DDs are by default valid for 6 months. I will update spreadsheet soon (on mobile now).

I actually do have an account with SBI, I was thinking they'll be more difficult to work with! Will first approach them, and then others.

Well, issue with the travel is, it'll take nearly 4 hours of work day - and in my situation, I cannot be out of office for more than 1 hour Also, in case they don't have it, then I've wasted 4 hours for nothing.

Yup, I've once had my Bank of AMerica credit card changed due to some frauds in Chicago. I had been in Chicago only for 3 days, and they marked me as potential victim of fraud! That's when I decided i'm never relying on CC for critical payments...

Did anyone email their Visa Office? I am trying to find out how long does the VO's take to respond to an email?

I have sent an email to CPC-Ottawa, and I am curious how long they take to respond. I know that the CIO-Sydney takes about 6 weeks.

I read about a June 12 applicant who received and email prior to getting his application back

The applicant first sent an email to CIO to inquire about his case. so it was reply email from CIO

My ECAS status shows "In Process". When I click on it, it says we received your application on May 28th.

I have paid through draft and I don't know it's encashment status.

Is it a good sign? Any chance of PER?
