After carefully examining all the choices ( I have liquid cash in my bank but majority of them is accumulated in this month), I am considering Fixed deposit for proof of funds. I will deposit the amount of money in two different banks . Do they accept FD or do we need any additional proof .

finally when you convert to Canada dollar, should I be using the current dollar conversion

Hi everyone
According to the charts, it looks like CIC is charging fees / issuing PERs with a speed close to linear, so it makes a good base for estimates.
I've made the estimates - it's pure mathematics, without any guesses, based on the data we have in the spreadsheet. You can see them highlighted in yellow on the image below. They properly account for number of applications received on each particular day, work days / weekends, possible noise in the data, - everything to make the estimates as accurate as possible. Of course, there is this assumption that CIC processing speed is linear.
According to the estimates, it looks like PERs for May 6 applicants should start really soon, possibly tomorrow
Accuracy of the estimates significantly decreases for dates far into future, and even for close dates the estimate will probably be plus/minus a week or even more, but for those folks who are asking when CIC will start charging the fees / issuing the PERs, I believe, this estimate is as precise as we can possibly get at all, given the current data

One of my previous employers had not responded for sometime in respect to a reference letter for my application. I did not want to delay my application and so sent it with my job offer letter for this job, copy of contract and other documents relating to this position. Now my application is with CIO and this employer has now supplied me with a reference letter. Is is worth sending a copy of this reference letter with a cover letter to the CIO or wait to my file goes to the VO and sending a copy of the letter there?

Hi, Brother.

I checked wes web site and found that my overall status was still 'Documents received - review in progress'.

BTW, when going in submenu(clicking reference number hyperlink->quick link menu->required documents menu), each individual document status was seen as 'accepted' for all the documents I have sent.

Does that mean WES finished credential assessment and preparing for report?

FD is reliable POF .. SO u can proceed with this without any issue....

And if Ur Bank certificate show the CAD converted volume-this would have been better....

Had u considered the points for that work exp to full fill 67 points?

If this point is not required then - This is also not required to send additional docs right now or on later stage....

*NOTE: Only cheques issued from Canadian bank accounts are accepted.

what is the meaning for this. cant we make bank draft from NEPAl or what?

Based on your status, they are still assessing your documents. You may try to send them an email through their help link. What I did is that when my status stucked in review in progress for 3 days, I sent them an email and afterwards, the following day, they updated it to completed and after 4 days, it was delivered at my home.

I believe they only accept cheque in Canadian funds or a credit card payment. I paid with a UK credit card and that was accepted fine. So a foreign Visa or Mastercard Credit Card should work.

This is for a friend of mine . she applied couple of years ago and the medical was requested 14 months before . She was then completed medical and right to admission fee and then the passport. She has been waiting since then. 14 months no update from CIC and no replies to email. When you look at the web site for updates, it shows as medical received.

Can someone shed some light on tracking this with CIC. Did any of your friends experience same behavior

I see most of them gets the passport back within a month or two after the request.

You can adopt a two-prong strategy:

Since you get Two copies of ECA from WES.. why don't you send One of ECA score to CIO with an Explanation letter to consider 'Additional Documents' with your Original submission. You have nothing to loose but 1 Courier charges... if they dont Accept they will return but imagine if they Accept you are bingo ! 8)

In the meantime you can ready your another New Application

may i ask people to let me know how many applications were returned due to ECA report being sent but a photo copy or notarized one instead of original. I wrongly comprehended the copies unless otherwise stated my mistake so original has to be sent which i agree but does CIC acts without any consideration when it comes to a scenario where all the documents are in place but one missed out on original and sent a notarized copy.

Cause as some of you know i have sent the ECA photocopy with notary signature.

I am prepared to send the complete application again but how soon i can get an IELTS anybody in india (bangalore) went through that route?
Please let me know the timelines for reissuing the IELTS for the new application.

Also can i get the number/email id/Fax # for contacting CIC.

People please help and thanks in advance.

It doesn't mean your friend can't make DD from Nepal. I advise your friend to go to Nepal Investment Bank along with the photocopies of address and required amount. They are very used to on these matter.

Which VO was her application being dealt with?

Did she send her original passport ?or copies and has she had passport back?
