I guess you are impressed with US...do you know once you migrate to Canada the doors are open for US you can apply a TN visa and start working there...
Yup. But that is only after you become citizen. And mind you - Canadian goverment is aware of loosing residents once they become citizen, so there is a consideration that is under review to make the wait for citizenship longer. If I'm not wrong - the recommendation is to make it 4 years in the last 6 years, from what it is now (3 years in the last five years. And obviously this can change

Look again. I'm going if I get through the process. But all I am saying is I will be extra careful to not go their initially with higher stakes (family) and also dont endlessly try to make my fortune their. If it does not work out, then I would be willing to accept my failure and return for good.

Friend, No answer to such a broad question comes in a hurry. And this is certainly not meant to 'help' others as most have made up their mind after knowledge gathering and understanding, mate. Only then have they applied. It seems you applied without doing proper sanity check (or so it seems from your words) and therefore you are asking quite basic questions that should have been asked before applying!

Now since you are familiar with India most (from your words on USA / Hungary don't get much sense of your knowledge of those areas, which is okay. It comes after one has lived like a couple of years at a place, that too being employed there not from a 3-6 months short work trip), on a point of 1 to 10 (10 being best in class) rate India on all the parameters below:

job opportunities: 9
income level: 7
quality of life: 3
peace of mind / stability: 5
safety: 9 ( yes 9)

Affordability Yes/ No questions
Do you see yourself buying a Honda Accord here? yes/ no. if yes, in how many years? 7 years
Same as above but a BMW 5 series here? yes/ no. if yes, in how many years? I can never buy.
Do you see yourself going on a cruise here? yes/ no. if yes, in how many years? Out of question for me

Dear Seniors: Need your help and support

I just viewed my WES report and i have been awarded with 3 years bachelor equivalency for which i will get 21 points. i recalculated my points and as per my calculation i am falling short by 1 mark.

1. Age (DOB 01/09/1978) 11 points
2. Education (Chartered accountancy - 3 years bachelor as per WES) 21 points
3. IELTS (L=7, W=7, R=6.5, S=6) 19 points
4. Work experience 15 points
5. Arranged employment in canada (No) 0 points
6. Adaptability (no relatives, only friends in canada) 0 points

in adaptability, i may apply for my spouse ielts now but by the time i will get the report (will take atleast a month), the process will probablycome to an end. is there any way that i can improve on one mark and in ilets does 6.5 and 7 band only gets 4 marks, can i claim 5 points. Further is there any possiblity to get arranged employment through consultant to claim some points.

Further even if there is no way to claim this 1 precious point, still i should consider sending the package or it will be useless? further in addition to my chartered accountancy from pakistan, i also have to qualify 1 paper of ACCA - UK. can i get some sympathy if i include this fact in my application. i cant go for this (ACCA - UK) to WES as they will again take a month to process this equivalency.

Anxiously waiting for your support and reply.

I would disagree on safety...I would give it a 4 may be 5 but definitely not 9...how come 9 which city do you live in? I am in Delhi. Also, Please compare the safety levels of Canada when giving 9.

Citizenship path
Canada 7 years and US 10 years. That is what it is more or less

I guess the question here is more about job prospects if you have understood by now

US - AMAZING....Paradise on earth. Lots of opprtunity for everyone. For all classes and masses.
Hungary - Worse. A very communist mindset, They would never accomodate someone from outside.

I dont think this back and forth is helping anyone. If you have any point, come straight to it please
I don't want to get in the middle of this mess. But I have to say this to your statement. Tell that to the 47% (if you know the reference, hint: Mitt Romney's scandal). A declining middle class, increasing violence, stagnant pay (for anyone other than the super rich), unaffordable and nightmarish healthcare (good luck if you ever get in a accident), and most important for wannabe immigrants good luck getting that greencard (10-15 years on average wait time AFTER you apply for it if you are from India). You might have more opportunities definitely, but not worth overlooking all these other aspects of LIVING one's life, at least for me.
US might be good if your plan is to only temporarily stay here, load up on money and leave. However, I think most people that are in this forum are looking to permanently immigrate. And in my opinion, there is not even a comparison to be made between Canada and US's immigration system.

How is it 7 for Canada? And since when did US citizenship get delivered at home in 10 years? People in this forum from USA have not got their green card in 10 years, leave apart citizenship. And I can share other examples too. :)

Chat with ID 'namaste' here and you will know more....
Lol that you mention me!! I was just getting my groove on!

@ AAV: you have to have a greencard before citizenship. And if you think it's that easy to get a US greencard, then you need to spend some time checking the reality.

Hello,

Got my PER thru mail today (snailmail) as I forgot to indicate my email address in IMM 0008.
My PER letter is dated June 18, 2014. I have updated my entry in the spreadsheet.
Is there a way I can tell the CIO about my email address?
Thanks and Goodluck to all of us.

Either you are answering in a hurry, or you are not very sure of the answers that you are selecting. Think through it for a day, and answer again, maybe tomorrow. That's fine by me!

Income level 7 for India?
And, safety 9?

If you can afford a Honda Accord in 7 years I'd say you can go for a cruise in 3-4 years, why is it out of question?

Think through, research and then answer. And even after a day if the answers don't change I might have no hesitation in saying you should stay in India. However, I'll wait for the revised answers. Enjoy!!! :)
Honda accord, Cruise is all very subjective SIR. When would I be able to throw 14 odd lacs to afford a luxury car - Guess in 7 years. And when can I afford a cruise. NEVER. Not atleast I have 5+ cr in savings to throw at something which is more luxurious then buying a car ( From utility prospective) therefore I said never

if anybody is going to canada for affording Cruise, mercedez - good luck to them. For me it is - whether can I afford my bills and give a good life to my family. Those are more important question.

And safety wise - yes I mean 9. I have been living with my family for last 30 years in mumbai, touchwood - no issues at all. Nobody tried to kill us or even attempt to. My sister and mom are safe to travel back home alone in the night. So why not 9...?
