India residents who are proposed PR holders for Canada, can now open bank account in Scotia bank Delhi or any other branch. Scotia bank will act as an extended Canadian Scotia bank arm. It will be as good as account opened in Canada.
IT IS A SERVICE PROVIDED BY SCOTIA BANK IN INDIA TO PRPOSED PR HOLDERS.
ACCOUNT CAN BE OPENED ONY WHEN YOU GET VISA STAMPED ON YOUR PASSPORT AND CALL BEFORE APPROACHING BANK FOR OTHER DOCUMENTS REQUIRED.
Benefits
1. No hussel and risk to carry cash for open a bank account in Canada
2. When you land you will be already holding bank statement which you can show to Canadian authorities.
3. Please note. THAT ACCOUNT WILL BE PURELY CANADIAN BANK ACCOUNT. IT IS AS GOOD AS ACCOUNT OPENED IN CANADA.

Hi, Friends
as stated by some friends that opening a account in scotia bank is simple and hassle free and can be used for depositing our indian rupees into CAD. Can somebody put some further light into the process :
1. Means if I need 25000 CAD for showing as proof of funds during landing in CANADA. what amount actually i need to deposit in scotia bank and what are the other charges bank will deduct from my deposited amount.
2. Is it cheaper transaction then purchasing a DD for 25000 CAD from ICICI bank.
3. Is it cheaper to purchase travelers chaque for 25000 CAD and then submit the same in canada bank after landing. because i heard that travellers chaque take commission on both ie during buying and selling/ depositing the TC at canada bank.
4. Suppose with scotia bank....the process is cheaper (means less deduction during rupee to CAD conversion) then what scotia bank will give to us as a proof of funds to show at airport during landing. because in scotia bank we are able to deposit / do the transaction from india only once.....means we can only deposit money in indian rupees once only......rest action can be done only we reach canada and make this account functional.
friends kindly suggest me a suitable way to carry my funds..lots of discussions are already on blog...saying take DD / TC/ some cash in CAD or USD....but no body has actually given some figures that which one process is more easier and decuct less indian rupee to CAD.
kindly help me out...
Regards
Chak
