need experts advice...

During my degree education of 4 years, I worked 3 years as a part time sales executive.

So 3 years of part time is considered as 1.5 years of full time.

Past 2.5 years I have been working as DBA and would like to apply under 2172

But my question is, Can I claim that work experience?

Does Sales Executive falls under any NOC ?

As long as your responsibilities match with NOC responsibilities, you are eligible. Note that the Employment Requirement section (where it is mentioned business administration is required) will not be considered by CIC.

As per FSW13 on New Delhi VO,

there were-

1. Physical visits on work place
2. Interview on phone call to Prncpl applicant regarding his job roles
3. Phone call to Work referee to know about the Prncpl applicant job roles/designation/salary.


These were the activity I can remember...

What about other VO like singapore??

Just to add one with Ashif Bhai from my personal experience.

Recently an embassy directly send attached copy of reference letter to Head of HR for confirmation; note that the applicant did not mentioned HR contact address but they somehow collected it. And the Applicant never worked in our company but the signatory worked; later the signatory was sacked for giving false reference letter.

Scary situation , but yes things like this may happen as you and Ashif rightly said. So applicants need to be very careful what they are producing before applying.

Is this correct to mention as below the starting period, remaining period is job that I have filled.

June 2004 - Dec 2004 = Studying (completing MCS last 6 months)
Jan 2005 - Feb 2005 = "Unemployed" OR "waiting for result" OR "Unemployed - Job Searching"

1. I started SSC from 6th Class till 10th so in your case it would be 1992-07 till 1997-06 (feel free to play with months according to examination calendar; its trivial info so just use your best guess).

2. I used school name, mark sheet will be provided so no issue. It simply reflects that u were student of xyz school but abc board conducted the exam and issued the certificate.

3. Secondary/Intermediate/BS/MS

4. Ya correct, just make CompMathStat to Comp, Math, Stat if you are short of space then make it Comp. & Stat. as maths is compulsory subject (i think). Again its not that imp info (i mean missing one subject doesn't harm as u r already providing ur mark sheet/certificate.

5. Explain the gaps in personal history as "Waiting for result and admission". I used one row for each gap.

Also,the manager i was working for has moved to another company and is ready to give me a reference letter. Can i use this reference letter even if he is not presently workig with the organization we worked for together. Do i have to submit documents to prove that we worked together ? Please guide me.

I think it would help if you get a mail from your current company mentioning that they do not provide job responsibilities letter. This would strengthen your position.

Yes, you can. You can count part-time work toward the work experience requirement, as long as you were not a full-time student at the time. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=393&t=6 .“Full-time” means at least 30 hours of paid work in one week. One year of full-time work is at least 1560 hours.

If your roles fallen under the category on NOC6211/6221/6222/6231/6232/6235, you will get points for your part-time experience. However, if you can see any other relevant NOC that is in the cagtegory of A or B, that will also be fine.

I think you shud do the following:

1. get the letter from your manager with roles and resp.
2. attach any other documents that proves he was actually your maanger.
3. send a letter from your current comapny in whatever format they can give. preferbably also shows you were working there during the period your manager is providing the reference for.
4. attach letter from company saying they cant provide roles and resp.
