Why do they say they don't have access, like they cant do anything, but when you tell them (or [lie]) its in progress, please give the number etc, they give it! what a bunch of liars!

To know the status of your application by calling cic from outside canada
dial - 0016139444000
select 1 for English
then 1 for foreign affair
2 for immigration
call is being transferred to cic
then 1 for English
2 for status
1 for PR
8 digit client id number will be asked
listen the request 3 times without entering client id number

remember they might tell you we dont have access to the system, you should call them 1 more day, if they says again try it again. tell them i have an application in progress and i want to know the client ID number. i did the same and it worked.

The worry is that Canadian immigration is fast becoming difficult, limited, and new hurdles are being created every new year. We are hearing about introduction of "Expression Of Interest" (EOI) starting next year, which severely will limit immigration opportunities further, let alone the paralyzing AEO system now.

Gandalf / luqi - My application was received in Sydney, Nova Scotia for NOC 2174 on 3rd June 2013. This was when the CAP only said 33... I still haven't heard anything about my application. I have sent an email but had no reply. Any ideas?

Unfortunately I have read here even today of people who sent their applications earlier than you that have it returned due to cap full. The cap that was shown on the day you applied was most likely for the first few days in May. Between that time and when yours was received, there were some others received that were not yet included in the cap update and those ones will definitely be processed before getting to your own application. But then I can only say remain positive until you receive either your PER email or your application back.

Just the same old bullsh*t... contact via email / they did say if you have been to Canada as a visitor and have a visa in your passport you can get the UCI no from there... However, I am a UK Citizen and we dont need a visitor visa to go to Canada...

LOL! of course we don't need a visitor visa! (I'm from UK too). I'm going to give it another 2 weeks, and if still nothing, then I am going to call CIC and almost demand some info (following the trick that Luqi mentioned thx). I'll update here let you know.
