Hey Guys,

Any idea when CIC would request us to submit schedule A background and Police certificate (PC) after submitting our application? I would like to find out that time frame. My spouse requested for PC from US and they're saying it will take approximately 3 months. I am trying to calculate the time when CIC would ask us to submit police certificate. I noticed that they would give us 30 day time to submit PC but would they wait for us to submit if we haven't received PC on that 30 day period time. Any idea or thoughts on this? In some countries getting PC is fairly simple but it's not the case for all the countries though, they might take some time (2 to 3 months) to provide us police certificate.

Thanks!

Hi there, below in bold you'll find CIC information regarding your question/concern I've copied and paste it here for your information. It's located on the document checklist IMM5533E (follow the link)

We encourage you to get your police certificates in advance to avoid delays.

Submit your Schedule A – Background / Declaration (IMM 5669)

View form IMM 5669 (PDF, 410.00 KB)

All applicants over the age of 18 and all principal applicants (including a dependent child under the age of 18) must upload a validated electronic copy of this form within 30 days from the date of the acknowledgement email or letter.

To speed up processing and avoid delays, we strongly recommend that you:

fill out this form electronically while waiting for your acknowledgement of receipt
make sure the form is validated
save a validated copy so it’s ready to upload to your online account as soon as you link your application

you can use a channeler for FBI reports now, and can get a report within days now so it's not necessary to go directly to the FBI. If you report is not received by the time it is requested, you can ask for an extension and it will most likely be granted.

hey folks,

Joined this club on 13th feb ( applied the package application)

received text message today 15 feb 2017 that the application package has been received and that the ircc will send an email or mail once the process started. DOES THIS MEAN THAT THE APPLICATION HAS BEEN ACCEPTED AFTER CHECKING THE CHECKLIST AND REQ. DOCUMENTS OR IS IT JUST CONFIRMATION OF RECEIPT OF ACCEPTANCE? :D ;D :o

I assume that this is only confirmation that they have physically received the package.
Mine was received on the 10th and I'm awaiting AOR which is the "review your application to make sure it’s complete" stage.
From what I gather this takes a week or 2 after physically receiving the application.

2 to 3 months is brutal! In the UK I sent for my PC on the 6th Feb and received it on the 13th Feb.

Are you an American Citizen or PR? If so, you may want to use Fieldprint (sends the result via email) or My FBI Report (sends the result via mail). You can choose any channeler from their list, after all, they're all approved anyway.

Hi prvc, thank you! Yes I am an American citizen applying for PR. I was actually thinking of using Fieldprint since I used them just a few months ago to get fingerprinted for my employer. Fieldprint says they do not mail results through the mail and will only upload it to your online portal? Per their FAQ below:

I need an official sealed/apostille copy of my background check results for a specific agency. Can Fieldprint provide this?
No. All requests for a sealed or apostille copy of your FBI criminal history record information MUST be requested directly through the FBI. FBI-approved channelers are not able to provide results in this manner.

I would assume a printed copy through the portal would be acceptable if it's an FBI approved channeler?

I am assuming you are using this for the Spousal App, correct? Right now, PCCs are requested to be uploaded via myCIC so I think you're good with Fieldprint. If you want a physical letter delivered to your mailbox, you can use My FBI Report. But sure, you can print the results from Fieldprint on a regular bond paper. FBI doesn't anymore use a tamper-proof paper anyway.

Oh! I didn't know that you didn't have to physically mail in it. That's very helpful. Thank you! :)

That's amazing. Are you currently residing in the UK? My Husband is dual Brit and Aussie, living in Aus and it took us almost 2 months to receive his UK check and it was a timely process to even apply for it. I'm assuming that's because he doesn't reside there and hasn't in over 10 years.

Yeah my spouse have already used channeler for getting the reports since she's not in states now. But they're still saying it'll take 3 months so not sure about exact time frame for that. I hope we will get the report by the time CIC asks us to submit. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for your reply I really appreciate it.
