If you don't mind to tell, what was the issue with address ?

So my application got returned because apparently in the Generic Application Form (Page 2 Contact Information Q1), I mentioned my Canadian address for my wife's current mailing address, as my wife is currently living with me on this address on a TRV.

They said and I quote "A correction to the mailing address specified on the Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM0008) to reflect the mailing address of the Principal Applicant; or, if the Principal Applicant wishes to have correspondence mailed to the address specified, a completed and signed Use of a Representative form (IMM 5476) is required for the authorization of release of documents and information to the individual residing at this address."

Sent it out today, and it should arrive in Mississauga tomorrow (Expected delivery: 2016/02/12).

Thumbs pressed!

Hey Guys, I know a lot of us have been wondering why the processing times are no longer shown individually anymore.
Here is what I found on the CIC.GOV website, just thought i would share

Why did processing times information change?

Prior to December 31, 2015, processing times for many of our services were displayed by visa office. This was useful when applications for permanent or temporary residence were always processed by the nearest visa office. However, we now have the ability to move applications around our global network to ensure they are processed as efficiently as possible. This means your application may not be processed at the office closest to where you live.

For many services, instead of asking about your nearest visa office, you are now asked for your country of residence. This provides you with a more accurate processing time. For other services, you may see a single processing time, no matter where you live. This is our commitment to process applications within that time. These processing times are updated on a weekly basis.

In addition, we redesigned the layout to be mobile friendly so that you can get the information you need anytime, on any device.

I wonder how that works for the interviews (if you are being processed from another VO which is not the one closest to you).

I know! Thats what we were wondering too! I mean, they can't make you fly around the world to some visa office that has no relations to your country at all. And how do they even choose where to process your application now?
My guess is, that visa offices like ours (Lima) will still be sent here, because this office is not busy at All. I checked the spreadsheet for 2015 and they only had 3 applicants.Processing time was 7months). But busy offices like in Pakistan (Used to be 24Months processing time) they probably send to a less busy location to even out the work load? I don't know, thats just my theory

In that case i can say about the visa ofice in mexico, for example the cases for dominican republic are been proceseced in mexico, so they get an oficer to flight
2 times a year to the embassy in santo domingo D.R. Thats what they do they send oficers to the visa ofice in the country where is your origen.

Hello,

Did not get a response on my first post so will try again. I submitted application using the old IMM0008 template. Any advice on what to do?

Thanks,

Hi folks! My wife is sponsoring me to come from the USA... we sent application in on Feb. 2nd. Naturally, I'm a little nervous during this first phase (not expecting to hear anything from CIC for a few months and just hoping they don't return my application). As I go back over it in my head, I'm pretty sure there were 2 errors:
- forgot to select a "Choice of Interview Location" on Schedule A (IMM 3910 for U.S. applicants)
- submitted IMM 5669 with a stale-dated signature (from October 2015... however, the requirement that a document be signed within the last 90 days might only apply to citizenship and PR card applications, from what I can tell)

Hopefully these are small enough problems that CIC will let them slide... I guess only time will tell.

Good luck to everyone in a similar situation!

Mandie it went well...didn't last half hour...simple questions the question us separate, and gave us an answer at the end the agent was very very nice....interview was in montreal

That's good to hear. Good news on the way.

Looks like my application won't be delivered today - seems Canada Post sent it to the wrong location (Toronto instead of Mississauga).

I do not have words to express how disappointed I am at the moment with this "mix-up". However, there is nothing that I can do at the moment and they changed the expected delivery date for Feb. 15th (Family Day in Ontario), so I am thinking it will be there on the 16th instead.

???

Too bad...I read so many negative feedback about Canada post so I used Purolator. Hope your application gets there safe.
