if you're visa exempt, this is not exactly true. as Blue mentioned, you don't need the pr card to fly out of canada, and it's not technically required for entering canada by plane. what it is required for is the airline to prove you have the right to travel canada. As a visa exempt traveler, your passport does just that. The workaround to not having the PR card if your visa exempt and flying is you can tell the airline you are only visiting to get on the plane. you do not need to inform them of your pr status. you then use the COPR to get into canada at immigration. Technically you don't even need the COPR as your passport confirms your status. unless you are subject to the ETA (if required for australia) and are not traveling until after the grace period ends in September, then i don't understand why you think you need your PR card to travel? there are many visa exempt PRs who travel commercially without their pr card and have no issue. am i missing something here because it seems to be a heck of a lot more complicated than it needs to be?
