Agreed man! and travelling isn't cheap eg airfare for me is $1500 and God forbid I ask for more than two weeks of vacation, I am told that I need to quit. Who quits their job in tough times like these. Got married in may 2015, I visited my wife in November 2015, and now I am going back in October after almost 1 year. This first year for us was supposed to be strengthening our relationship, spending first anniversaries, first birthdays and other family occasions together, instead we spend all this time getting irritated and argue over little things because the frustration of being apart takes over.

Anyways, I am done ranting. I still think people should be a bit sensitive to what others are going through. Everyone is welcomed on this forum to help other members out, but we can definitely do without unjustified complaining.
Agreed.

+1 for you.

not to mention visa exempt foreigners lying and withholding information from the border guards so they can get into canada and overstay their welcome. i will bring this to my local MP's attention the next time i'm at his office. i'm working hard to fulfil my dream of getting into canadian politics, and god help them if i'm ever in a position to influence the CBSA's policies.

let the down votes commence. i'm at -18 currently, so let's see how much further down i'll be by tomorrow.

Gotta have some popcorn here :)

Now this what a forum looks like :)

My thoughts exactly.

Visa exempt foreign nationals getting DM after two months while already sitting on a couch in Canada with their spouses complaining they got their COPR too early or that their PR card hasn't arrived when everyone else has long drawn out application processes and go months or years without being with their spouses because they can't even enter Canada without the COPR.

Ridiculous.

I'll probably receive a few "-'s" for this comment but I really don't care.
I hear ya..... They can delay the PR card just get my husband here already

I don't think we should be comparing ourselves like this.

This is a community and everyone is entitled to voicing themselves and their opinions (much like you and others have).

At some point down the line you will be at the step of waiting for your PR card and if this means your spouse cannot leave the country to travel and see her family then I am sure you will be upset about the wait time (anyone would). I don't think the user had the intention of upsetting anyone.

At some point we need to all consider that we started this process together and we are here for one another no matter what (no matter where we are in the process).

Lets remain positive.

Not having the PR card does not stop travel outside the country.

It is rather straight forward to apply for a PR travel doc if need be. And furthermore, he's visa exempt. He can waltz in and come and go as he wishes.

See it or not, Family Class processing is completely biased in favour of western visa exempt applicants, and it's not about comparing, it's just fact.

If my wife got DM in two months I wouldn't be here complaining the PR card (which is largely useless other than to come back to Canada without the PR travel doc) hasn't arrived for 2 more months.

Sure, everyone is welcome and free to voice themselves and their opinions, but that doesn't mean I have to censor my opinions when someone says something I disagree with or don't particularly like. It wasn't so much the post about not receiving the card yet that bothered me and others, it was the whining that "it's a joke" when the real joke is how easily and quickly visa exempt applicants are processed. If someone comes across seeming to be entitled, other people are not going to like it, and that's just the way it is.

Thanks for the -

Actually - it is not as straight forward as you might think it is (especially if you are from Poland). You cannot simply go to the Embassy and apply for a PR travel document. You need to go through a VAC - which charges you an additional $100 and simply acts as an intermediary. If you are planning on going out of the country by plane for a short amount of time - then not having the PR card can be problematic (especially once Sept. 29th comes around). Sure you might say, then all you need to do is fly back into the USA and drive to Canada (which may be an option for some, but you need a visa to get into the USA from Poland). See where I am going with all of this?..... Not as cut and dry as you make it out to be.

Please be compassionate with others - we are all here for one another.

We have all been kind enough to share information and our own experiences on here and that is part of what makes these forums great. Regardless of where one comes from and at what stage they are in the process. Waiting is painful for everyone, let's not quarrel over this.

Landed in early May and still haven't received my PR card.. can't believe how long it has taken to do this.. I received DM in a shorter time frame than it has taken them to send me my PR card.. what a joke.

Anyone else landed and received their PR card yet?

Good luck to any remaining applicants :) Your time is coming and will come very soon!!
You should give them a call - we landed June 2nd and just received our PR card in the mail today.

Thanks for understanding Mega.. I gave them a call and all they could do was "give the CPC a nudge" to ensure the process wasn't halted.

Just as an FYI for all those complaining about me asking about PR card.. to give you some context, i have an ill brother back in Australia who's battling cancer for the 3rd time in 5 years and i'm trying to plan my travel back to Australia so that I can be with him when he receives a bone marrow transplant.. for all you being completely insensitive, take a step back and smarten up.. and FYI, I have been through my own fair share of immigration problems.. i know where you are all at with things and i feel for you, but for gods sakes.. don't be so silly to just assume i'm complaining about my PR card for no reason... i'm simply trying to figure out to see other people with similar timelines had received their cards.. i would preferably to pay less to fly out of vancouver as opposed to travelling to seattle for something like this.... i've already flown enough in last 12-18mths.. i didn't want to have to explain this situation but felt as though I needed to defend myself............

I am sorry to hear about your brothers situation and I sincerely hope he recovers.

Can you not obtain a PR travel doc so you can go visit him now?

My intention was not to come across as insensitive and there is no problem with having a complaint, I think for me and possibly others as well it was the calling the system a joke because you got DM in two months and haven't gotten the card two months later that irked people the wrong way. A lot of people with spouses from non exempt countries think it's a joke that they are forced to be apart for so long. You are lucky to be exempt and be fast tracked through this process.
