Hi Guys, less than a week until July 23rd which is supposed to be the day we can link our applications online!! (Unless they change the date on us again ???)

Either way, I was wondering, does anyone know if this will replace the Notes? Like a real time version of the notes?
What sort of information we will be able to see?
Will it tell us whether or not our file is being worked on? Location, eligibility, criminality, security, medical?!

Thank You!

No, it will not replace GCMS notes.

This function is already available to use with online applications.

We applied for TRV/Study Permit online and ordered the notes for the application.

It will show you the assessments and the progress being made and will alert you to any correspondence from CIC.

It's better than eCAS of course but not detailed like GCMS notes, but you will be able to view: application statu(Open/Closed),Review of medical results(passed or failed),review of submitted documents(any additional required document will be shown and document will be uploaded here),interview schedule(if any),review of biometric information, and final decision information. You will still need to order your GCMS to see the progress . The good thing about My account, you are alerted of any updates as long as an officer opens your file( you get an automated email........you will even get unwanted emails telling you that there has been no update since last time...) and no more missed emails from CIC(unless you don't use My Account)...you can start registering for "My CIC account" now :D :D ;D ;D

Thanks gabby50. Anything is an upgrade over ecas which basically tells you nothing.

So does this mean they will stop using ecas? i.e. will there be no need to check it anymore for updates?

It won't replace eCAS as all CIC applications categories are not yet ready to be linked to "My CIC Account" and only registered applicants will be able to link an application. You will be asked to link your application to My account when trying to use eCas.

The PA in our case already has an account from when we applied for the TRV, so it's there and ready to be linked.

I'm more than happy to use it as long as it gives us more insight into our application.

Hey Guys,

I have a couple of questions which may sound very basic in nature but somehow for some unknown reason i am going blank(stress may be :().

They are requesting Please quote your file number, as well as your telephone & fax numbers on all correspondence and on every document you send to us. a) We do not write the file number on the envelop? How can we write this information on the original documents?

Just write a cover letter as part of your response, quote your file number and info on that, and then make two copies of the docs you have to send - on the non original write the info you need to add...so you can make sure it stays with your file.

Thanks, I did almost the same. The idea of making two copies did not strike me. I did make an Index though and put a sticky note on each document(i know this is not a very good solution but..). I have uploaded the scanned copies of the documents and the DHL receipt in Case Specific Inquiry. I hope this should be fine. Once they get the documents, hopefully our file should be back in the race.

Hey February team, hope you're all doing great!
I have a question, well I previously mentioned that my medical exams were expired and on my GCMS notes which I received at the beginning of July, on medical results said "in progress",
today I decided to log on ECAS and they added a fourth line saying: "Medical results have been received." , does this mean that they approved them? Any of you have knowledge if they can ask for them again in the future?

Hello feb. team,

in need of some insight...I was asked by the visa office to supply PCC which were delivered personally on the june 17th. Up until now not a word from the visa office. Has anyone been through anything like this? Anyone know how long it takes to process Police checks?? Is it the last step??

Thanks in advance

PCC is a required document.

It being requested means nothing except your file was incomplete. They likely didn't start assessing criminality until it was recieved.

Normally when a document is requested they will give 30 days and put the file away until the deadline and then open it again to see if the document was submitted.

Landed in early May and still haven't received my PR card.. can't believe how long it has taken to do this.. I received DM in a shorter time frame than it has taken them to send me my PR card.. what a joke.

Anyone else landed and received their PR card yet?

Good luck to any remaining applicants :) Your time is coming and will come very soon!!

are you running into any issues not having your PR card? The physical card is generally only needed for traveling purposes for those requiring visas. you can get everything else you need with just your copr and passport. it took me 6 months to get my pr card, and honestly i think i've only used it twice since i've gotten it.
